Ancestors and Descendants of Bishop John BlosserThe Blosser family is said to have originated in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The earliest tracable ancestor is Peter Blosser (ca. 1717-?) who immigrated to America in 1739. He settled in Pennsylvania and was the father of ten children. One of his children was also named Peter Blosser (1752-1835). He married Magdalene Bear and they were the parents of eight children, all raised in the Mennonite tradition of their parents. Peter and Magdalene eventually settled in Page County, Virginia. Some of their descendants moved to Ohio where John Blosser (1855-1921) was born to Christian and Catherine Thut Blosser. He married Magdalene Brenneman and they were the parents of seven children. Descendants live in Ohio and other parts of the United States. |
