ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, PASSED IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER, 1825. ACADEMIES. AN ACT To alter and amend an act passed the twenty-third day of December, eighteen hundred and twenty-two, to distribute the Bank dividend and other nett proceeds of the Poor School Fund amongst the different counties in this state. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representaves of the State of Georgia in General Assembly met, nd it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That om and after the passing of this act, the sum of twenty ousand dollars, out of the proceeds of the Poor School 'und be, and the same is hereby set apart to be distributed nnually amongst the different counties of this state, in roportion to the number of free white population in each ounty, which population shall be ascertained by the cenis next to be taken, and which shall be considered as the opulation of the said counties until it shall be again taen, according to law, for the purpose of educating such hildren who are destitute of the means of education. |
