And that all that part of the faid county of Steuben Frederickt known and diftinguished by townships number four, five town. and fix in the firft range of townships, and the easterly half of townships number four and five in the fecond range bounded on the north and weft by the Crooked-lake, and allo the gore lying between the aft boundary line of the faid township number four, five and fix in the first range,. and the east bounds of the county, fhall be and continue a town by the name of Frederickstown. And that all that part of the faid county of Steuben known and distinguished by townships number one, two and three in the third and fourth range of townships aforefaid, fhall be and continue a town by the name of Middletown. And be it further enacted, That none of the bounds or lines by this act affigned for the limits of any of the faid towns fhall be conftrued to affect the right or title of any perfon or body politic, or confirm the bounds or rights of any patent whatsoever. And be it further enacted, That as foon as may be after the first Tuesday of May next, the supervisors and overfeers of the poor of the towns of Gofhen, Warwick and Minifink in the county of Orange, shall by notice to be given by the fupervisors of the faid towns, or any one of them for that purpose, meet together at any place in the town of Gofhen and apportion the poor maintained by the faid towns, and alfo divide all money which now is and will be in the hands of the overfeers of the poor of the faid towns, or any of them, in an equitable manner, and if the faid fupervifors and overfeers of the poor cannot agree upon fuch apportionment and divifion of the poor and money aforefaid, then and in such case, the fupervifors of the faid county fhall at their next annual meeting apportion and divide the poor and money as aforefaid, in fuch manner as fhall appear to them moft just and equitable; and the faid towns fhall hereafter maintain their own poor respectively. . V. Provided nevertheless, and be it further enacted, That nothing in this act contained fhall be deemed or conftrued to alter the lines or bounds of any of the towns erected, or in any wife affect the laws whereby fuch towns were erected at the prefent feffion of the legiflature, any thing herein contained to the contrary in any wife notwithstanding.
