HARRILDS' PATENT ROLLERS AND ROLLER-COMPOSITION, ESTABLISHED MANUFACTURED BY POWERFUL STEAM MACHINERY. HARRILD AND SONS, A.D.-1809. HARRILD AND SONS AVE pleasure in introducing HARRILD AND SONS' FOR NEWS FORMES. the above Invention to the WARD'S PATENT METALLIC QUOINS & SIDESTICKS HE new Patent plan can be notice of Newspaper Proprieters and Printers, and in doing so think it unnecessary for them, here, to do more than draw attention to the accompanying illustration, which cannot fail to recommend the New Patent plan. The great advantages are: Its extreme simplicity; its harmony with the practices of the trade, and the consequent readiness with which it may be used without the slightest instruction; and its perfect and unquestionable success in remedying the faults of the old system. Equally adapted for News, applied to any chases at present in use, and the largest forme may, literally, be locked up "IN LESS THAN A MINUTE." The formes are as easily unlocked as locked-up. It is impossible to drive the page out of the square, so that folding chases will always fit close together; it is, therefere, no longer necessary to incur the risk, inconvenience, and labour of locking-up two pages in one chase. A few easy taps, and the forme is ready for correction. The quoin need not be removed out of its place; so that the columns are left perfectly secure. Annoyance (a source of frequent occurrence), from quoins being left about the machine, is entirely removed, and greatly increased safety secured.
