SEC. 2. That so much of any ordinance as may conflict with or be supplied by the foregoing, be and the same is hereby repealed.

AN ORDINANCE

Establishing the grade on West Jefferson Street, from Buena Vista Street to Monterey Street, centre line.

SECTION 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the Select and Common Councils of the City of Allegheny, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by authority of the same, That the grade of West Jefferson Street, from Buena Vista Street to Monterey Street, be and is hereby established, as follows: Beginning on eastern curb of Buena Vista Street, at an elevation of one hundred and thirteen and ninety-one onehundredths (113.91) feet above City datum; thence ascending four and eighty-three one-hundredths (4.83) feet per hundred, for a distance of two hundred and thirty-eight and sixty-five one-hundredths (238.65) feet to the western curb line of an alley, twenty (20) feet wide, elevation one hundred and twenty-five and forty-four one-hundredths (125.44) feet above City datum; thence level to the west curb line of Monterey Street.

SEC. 2. That so much of any ordinance as may conflict with or be supplied by the foregoing, be and the same is hereby repealed.

AN ORDINANCE

To authorize the construction of a lateral sewer on Benton Alley, from Pump Alley to Race Street, Second Ward.

SECTION 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the Select and Common Councils of the City of Allegheny, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by authority of the same, That the Sewer Commission be and they are hereby authorized and directed to invite and receive proposals for the construction of a sewer, located as follows, viz.: On Benton Alley, from Pump Alley to Race Street, Second Ward; and to contract therefor with the lowest and best bidder or bidders, at their discretion.

SEC. 2. That as soon as the cost and expense of said sewer shall be fully ascertained, the same shall be levied, assessed, and collected as provided for by an Act of Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, entitled, "A Supplement to a Supplement of the fourth section of an Act entitled, An Act relating to Allegheny City,' approved March 24, A. D. 1869."

SEC. 3. That so much of any ordinance as may conflict with or be supplied by the foregoing, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the Select and Common Councils of the City of Allegheny, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by authority of the same, That the Sewer Commission be and they are hereby authorized and

directed to invite and receive proposals for the construction of a lateral sewer, located as follows, viz.: On Ackley Street, from Coffee Street to Strickler Alley, and to contract therefor with the lowest and best bidder or bidders, at their discretion.

SEC. 2. SECTION 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the Select and Common Councils of the City of Allegheny, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by authority of the same, That the Sewer Commission be and they are hereby authorized and directed to invite and receive proposals for the construction of a lateral sewer located as follows, viz.: On Ohio Street, from Union Avenue to Sandusky Street, and to contract therefor with the lowest and best bidder or bidders, at their discretion.

AN ORDINANCE

Relative to approach to North Side Bridge, changing grades of Sandusky and Isabella Streets, etc.

SECTION 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the Select and Common Councils of the City of Allegheny, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by authority of the same, That the grade of Sandusky Street shall be and the same is hereby changed as follows, viz.: Beginning at the north curb of River Avenue, at an elevation of twelve feet above the present grade, and descending thence at the rate of five feet per hundred to a point about sixty feet north of the north line of Isabella Street.

SEC. 2. That the grade of Isabella Street shall be and the same is hereby changed as follows, viz.: Beginning at a point on the north curb of Isabella Street, ninety feet east of east line of Sandusky Street, at elevation of present grade; thence ascending at the rate of three feet per hundred to east curb of Sandusky Street; thence level to west curb of Sandusky Street; thence descending at the rate of three feet per hundred to a point of intersection with present grade of Isabella Street.

SEC. 3. That before any change of grade shall be effected or work commenced for the bridge, the North Side Bridge Company shall have paid or secured all the damages arising

out of or on account of any and all of said changes of grade, including damages to sewers, sewer drops, water and gas pipes, etc., said damages to be assessed by a board of viewers, as provided by law in such cases.

SEC. 4. Said North Side Bridge Company shall pay all damages for opening to public use a street forty-seven feet in width, extending from Isabella Street to River Avenue, and running along the western side of Sandusky Street, between said points, as per plan attached, and shall, at its own expense, grade and pave the same, said street to be opened to public use before any change of grade be made on Sandusky Street.

SEC. 5. This ordinance shall not go into effect until the Company shall accept the same by its proper officers, covenanting at the same time that the failure to comply with any of its provisions shall work a revocation of the privileges by it granted to the said Company, and covenanting to commence work within one year, and complete the bridge for use of the public within the time limited by their present charter, and the Company shall file said acceptance within fifty days from the passage of this ordinance.

SEC. 6. That so much of any ordinance as may conflict with or be supplied by the foregoing, be and the same is hereby repealed.
