This is a performance of confiderable merit. The characters are in general well drawn, and fome are even original, efpecially that of the old dowager, Mrs. Dinwiddie. The book, upon the whole, contains a great deal of interefting and entertaining matter; and there is nothing in it repugnant to religion or found morals.
