"of the Publick Monies of [Names of the Commiffioners] the Com"miffioners of His Majesty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue, "being the Woods and Forefts Fund;" and fuch Balance, and the Produce of fuch Bills and Drafts, when paid, fhall be at the Difpofal of the faid Commiffioners, in the manner hereinafter directed with respect to the Monies to be hereafter placed to the like Account; and Mone received from and after fuch Appointment of Commiffioners as aforefaid, all on account of Sums of Money, Bills and Drafts received by the Commiffioners of Revenue formerHis Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue, on account of the Revenue heretofore under the Management of the Surveyor Ge- veyor General of neral of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts, Parks and Chafes, fhall, Woods paid into within Two Days after the fame fhall have been received, or within the Bank. XIII. Provided nevertheless, and be it further enacted, That it Commissioners fhall and may be lawful for fuch Commiffioners of His Majefty's may retain for Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue, to referve out of the Produce Current Payof the Revenue heretofore under the Management of the Surveyor General of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts, Parks and Chafes, for cafual and ordinary Payments, in the Hands of any private Banker to be nominated by any Three or more of the Commiffioners of His Majesty's Treasury, a Sum not exceeding Three thousand Pounds, to be drawn for by any Two or One of the faid Commiffioners as fhall or may be directed by any Three or more of the Commiffioners of His Majefty's Treafury; and if at any time the Sum fo referved fhall be reduced below Three thousand Pounds, then it shall and may be lawful for fuch Commiffioners, from time to time, to make up the fame to the Sum of Three thoufand Pounds, by Drafts, under the Hands of any Two or more of them, upon the Funds depofited in the Hands of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England.

XIV. And be it further enacted, That the Commiffioners of His How Payments Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue, fhall make all Pay- to be made by ments required to be made out of the Monies to be depofited in the Bank of England, by Drafts under the Hands of any Two or more of them on the faid Bank, and shall specify on fuch Draft the particular Service, Salary or other Charge, Purpose or Caufe for which fuch Draft fhall be given; and every fuch Draft shall also have marked in the Margin thereof a Figure correfponding to the Page in a Book to be kept by the faid Commiffioners, wherein Entry fhall be made of the particular Service, Salary or other Charge, Purpose or Caufe, for which fuch Draft fhall be given.

XV. And be it further enacted, That all Drafts drawn purfuant Drafts Authority to the Directions of this Act, but not otherwife, fhall be fufficient to the Bank. Authority to the Bank of England to pay the Amount thereof to

XVI. And be it further enacted, That upon the Death, Refigna. tion or Removal of any One of the Commiffioners of His Majesty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue, being Three in Number, the Balance of Cafh, together with all paid Bills and Drafts for which the faid Commiffioners fhall, at the time of fuch Death or Removal, have Credit on their Account with the faid Governor and Company, fhall actually veft in Two furviving or remaining Commiffioners in truft for His Majesty's Service, and forthwith, and before any thing fhall be added thereto or drawn therefrom, be transferred, carried over and placed to the Account of fuch Two furviving or remaining Commiffioners in truft for His Majefty's Service, to be applied to the faid Service in pursuance of the like Drafts and Orders as aforefaid; and that upon the Death, Refignation or Removal of any One of the Commiffioners of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue, being Two only in Number, and alfo upon the Death, Refignation or Removal of the whole Number of fuch Commiffioners, the Balance of Cash, together with all unpaid Bills and Drafts for which the said Commiffioners fhall at that time have Credit on their Account as Commiffioners of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue, with the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, fhall, as foon as a new Commiffioner or Commiffioners fhall be appointed to the faid Office, fo as to make the Number of Commiffioners not lefs than Two, actually veft in fuch new Commiffioner or Commiffioners, and the furviving or remaining Commiffioner, if any fuch fhall be and continue in Office, and if not, then in fuch new Commiffioners only, in truft for His Majefty's Service, and forthwith and before any thing fhall be added thereto or taken therefrom, be transferred, carried over and placed to the Account of fuch new and furviving or remaining Commiffioner or Commiffioners, or of fuch new Commiffioners only (as the Cafe may be) to be applied to the faid Service in purfuance of the like Drafts and Orders as aforefaid; and the Commiffioners of His Majesty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue for the time being fhall, and they are hereby directed to iffue their Drafts and Orders, under the Hands of any Two or more of them as aforefaid, for all unfatisfied Charges and Demands on account of His Majesty's Service, although the fame fhall have accrued in the time of any former Commiffioner or Commiffioners of His Majefty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue.

XVII. And be it further enacted, That from and after fuch Apo pointment of Commiffioners as aforefaid, the faid Commiffioners for the time being fhall keep the Account with the Bank of all Monies iffued on their Account for His Majeffy's Service; and the fame Commiffioners, obferving the Rules and Regulations bereby pre fcribed, fhall not be anfwerable, either collectively or individually, for any Money which they the faid Commiffioners, or any or either of them, fhall have fo paid into the Bank of England; and the Governor and Company of the Bank of England fhall be anfwerable for all the Monies which fhall be actually received by them from fuch Com miffioners.

XVIII. And be it further enacted, That if any Perfon or Per fons fhall knowingly and wilfully forge or counterfeit, or knowingly and wilfully act or affift in forging or counterfeiting the Name or Hand writing of either of the faid Commiffioners of His Majesty's Woods, Forefts and Land Revenue for the time being, to any Draft,

Inftrument or Writing whatfoever, for or in order to the receiving or obtaining any of the Money in the Hands or Cuitody of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England on account of the said Commiffioners, or fhall forge or counterfeit, or caufe or procure to be forged or counterfeited, or knowingly and wilfully act or affift in the forging or counterfeiting any Draft, Inftrument, or Writing in Form of a Draft made by the faid Commiflioners, or any or either of them, or fhall utter or publish any fuch, knowing the fame to be forged or counterfeited, with an Intent to defraud the faid Governor and Company, or any Body Corporate, or any Perfon or Perfons whomfoever, every Perfon or Perfons fo offending, being thereof lawfully convicted, fhall be, and is and are hereby declared and ad- Felony without judged to be guilty of Felony without Benetit of Clergy. XIX. to the fending and receiving Letters and Packets free from the Duty of Poftage; and alfo in another Act made in the Forty fecond Year of 42 G. 3. c. €8, the Reign of His prefent Majefty, intituled, An Ad to authorize the fending and receiving Letters and Packets, Votes, Proceedings in Par hament and printed Newspapers, by the Poft, free from the Duty of Poftage, by the Members of the Two Houses of Parliament of the United Kingdom, and by certain Publick Officers therein named, and for reducing the Poftage of fuch Votes, Proceedings and Newspapers, when fent by any other Perfons, are thereby permitted, in respect of their Offices, to fend and receive the fame in pursuance of the faid A&t; any Law or Ufage to the contrary in any wife notwithstanding.

XX. And whereas the Surveyor General of His Majefty's Woods and Forefts for the time being is one of the Perfons authorized • and appointed to act in the Execution of feveral Letters Patent of His faid Majefty: And whereas it will be expedient that the Perfon to be first named in any Appointment of Commiffioners to be made in purfuance of this Act, fhould be fubftituted in the Place • and Stead of the faid Surveyor General in the Execution of fuch ⚫ Letters Patent; and that this fhould be done without the iffuing of new or other Letters Patent for that Purpofe; Be it therefore further enacted, That from and after any Appointment of Commiffioners in purfuance of this Act, and during the Continuance of any fuch Appointment, the Perfon first named in any fuch Appoint. ment for the time, being shall be and be deemed and taken to be one of the Perfons authorized and appointed to act in the Execution of all and fingular fuch Letters Patent as aforefaid, in the Place and Stead Patent. of the laid Surveyor General, as fully and in the like manner, to all Intents and Purposes, as if fuch Perfon fo firft named for the time being was exprefsly named in and authorized and appointed to act in

XXI. An Act to authorize the Judge Advocate General to fend and
receive Letters and Packets free from the Duty of Poftage.

WHEREAS the Privilege of fending and receiving Letters and

Packets free from the Duty of Poftage is not extended to the Judge Advocate General, who by virtue of his Office neceffarily fends and receives many Letters and Packets relating to the Publick Service of this Kingdom;' Be it therefore enacted by the King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That from and after the paffing of this Act, the faid Judge Advocate General for the time being fhall and may fend and receive Letters and Packets free from the Duty of Poftage, in fuch manner and under fuch Reftrictions as are specified or impofed in relation to other Publick Officers, in and by or under and by virtue of an A& 42 G. 3. c. 63. made in the Forty fecond Year of His prefent Majefty, intituled, An Alt to authorize the fending and receiving of Letters and Packets, Votes, Proceedings in Parliament and Printed Newspapers, by the Poft, free from the Duty of Poflage, by the Members of the Two Houfes of Parliament of the United Kingdom, and by certain Publick Officers therein named; and for reducing the Poflage of fuch Votes, Proceedings and Newspapers, when fent by any other Perfon; any Law or Statute to the contrary notwithstanding.

An Act for the better Prefervation of Heath Fowl commonly
called Black Game, in the Counties of Somerset and Devon.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the Parliament of Great

Britain in the Thirteenth Year of the Reign of His present Majefty, intituled, An Ad to explain and amend the feveral Laws now in being, fo far as the fame relate to the Prefervation of the Moor or Hill Game, it is enacted, amongst other Things, that ⚫ from and after the Twenty fourth Day of June One thousand seven hundred and feventy three, no Perfon or Perfons fhall, upon any • Pretence whatsoever, wilfully take, kill, deftroy, carry away, fell, buy or have in his, her or their Poffeffion or Ufe, any Heath Fowl ⚫ commonly called Black Game, between the Tenth Day of December ⚫ and the Twentieth Day of Auguft in any Year: And whereas it • would

would tend very much to the Preservation of the faid Game, if the time for taking and killing Heath Fowl were poftponed;' Be it therefore enacted by the King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, That, Taking Black from and after the paffing of this Act, no Perfon or Perfons fhall, Game in Sumeron any Pretence whatsoever, take, kill or deftroy, or attempt to take, fet and Devon kill or destroy, in the Counties of Somerfet and Devon, any Heath ber 10 and Fowl commonly called Black Game, between the Tenth Day of De- Sept. 1. cember and the First Day of September in any Year ; and every Perfon who fhall tranfgrefs this A&t in any of the Cafes aforefaid fhall, for every Heath Fowl fo taken, killed or destroyed, and for every Attempt to take, kill or deftroy fuch Heath Fowl, contrary to the true Intent and Meaning of this Act, be liable to the fame Forfeitures Penalty. and Penalties, to be recovered in the fame manner, and fubject to the like Appeal, and the fame Provifions in every Refpect whatsoever as in and by the faid recited Act are enacted in respect of any Offence committed against the said A&t.
