,An Act to ratify and confirm the Provisional Articles of Agreement entered into by the respective Com-
missioners of this Province and of Upper Canada, at Montreal, on the fifth day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and four, relative to Duties, and for carrying the fame into effect; and also further to
continue an Act pasted in the thirty seventh year ot his Majesty's Reign.

An Act fuither to continue for a limited time, an Act pasted in the thirty sixth year of his Mijesty's
Reign, intituled. "An AB'for making a temporary provision for the regulation of trade between tbit Pro-
vince and the United Stales of America, by land or inland navigation.

An A:t further to continue,, for a li.rtited time, an Act pasted in the forty third year of his Majesty's
Reign, inituled, * An A3 for establishing Regulations nfpecling A'lient and certain Subjeclj of bit Ma.
"jcfly> who.huve resided in France, coming into this Province or residing therein."

An Act for the Relief of the Poor in the loan of S^ed Wheat, Corn and other necessary Grain.

An A'.t for applying the Sum of One Thousand Pounds, out of any unappropriated monies in the hanis
of his Majesty's Receiver General, towards the improvement of the inland navigation of this Pro-
vince.

Ah Act for applying certain Sums of Money therein mentioned, to complete the Bridge over the River
Jacques Cariier, and to open and improve the road leading towards the said Bridge.

An Act \p continue, for a limited time, the powers granted to certain Commissioner*, by an Act, intitu-
led, " An AH. for removing the old Wal\t and Fortifications that Jurround the City ef Montreal, and oth:r-
"wife to provide for the salubrity, convenience and embeliistmint of the said City," and for extending the
said powers, in certain cafes.

An Act for the appointment of an Inspector and Measurers of Scows and Rafts, and for regulating-the
Pilots or Conductors thereof, between Chateauguay and the City of Montreal.

An Act to prohibit the sale of Goods, Wares and Merchandise, Wine, Spirits and other Strong Liquors,

on Sundays.

An Act to establish a Toll or Turnpike, for improving and repairing the Road, from the City of Montre-
al to La Chine, through the Wood.

An Act fdr the better Regulation of Pilots and Shipping in the Port of Quebec, and in the Harbours of
Quebec and Montreal, and for improving the Navigation of the River St. Lawrence, and for establish-
ing a Fund for decayed Pilots, their Widows and Children.

An Act to provide for the erecting of a common Gaol in each of the Districts of Quebec and Montreal,
respectively, and the means for defraying the expences thereof.

ques Cartier, et pour ouvrir et améliorer un Chemin qui conduit au dit Pont. 25

Acte qui continue, pour un tems limité, les pouvoirs accordés à certains Commistairçs par un Acte intitu-

lé, •* Acte pour enhver les anciens Murs et Fortifications qui- entourent In Ville de Montréal, et pour pour-

"voir autrement à la salubrité, commodité et embelliflemtnt de la dite Ville" et pour étendre les dits pou-

Acte qui pourvoit à la nomination d'un Inspecteur et des Mesureur» de Bacs et Cages, et qui règle les

Pilotes ou Conducteurs d'iccux entre Chateauguay et la Cité de Montréal. 33

Acte qui prohibe la Vente des Effets et Marchandises, Vins, Rum et autres Liqueurs fortes, les jours de

Acte qui établit un Péage ou Barrière pour l'amélioration et entretien du Chemin entre la Cité de Montréal

tréal, et pour l'amélioration de la Navigation du Fleuve Saint Laurent; et pour établir un Fonds pour
