STALLIONS

FOR THE SEASON 1833.

At Grove House, Battersea, Surrey, 3 miles from Hyde Park Corner,

AARON, at 10gs, groom's fee included. He is by Moses, dain by Election, grandam, Miss Manager, by Giles, out of Rosabella's dam, by Diomed, her grandam, Harriet, by Matchem, her great grandam, Flora, by Regulus-Bartlett's Childers-Bay BoltonThe Belgrade Turk.

In 1830 he won the three great races at Bath, Brighton, and Goodwood, being the last time he started. He is 6 years old, and free from blemish; a rich chesnut, 15 hands and a half high, with good bone, fine action, and excellent constitution and temper.

All expenses must be paid before the mares are taken away,

ACTEON, at 10 sov. each mare, and one sov. to the groom. Every attention will be paid to mares and their foals. Good accommodation, &c.

AUGUSTUS, at Mr John Howe's, Newmarket, at 10 sov. groom's fee included. He is by Sultan, out of Augusta, by Woful. Good accommodation for mares and foals.

BATTLEDORE, by Sir Oliver, at Puddington, near Chester, at 10 sov. a mare, and half a sov. to the groom.

Good accommodation for mares and foals at the usual prices.

BEDLAMITE, at Newmarket, at 15gs a mare, groom's fee included.

BELZONI, at Mr Lucas's, Lutterworth, Leicestershire, at 7gs a mare, and 5s. to the groom.

Belzoni is own brother to Belshazzar, the first favourite for the Doncaster St Leger. He is a brown horse, with immense size and power, was got by Blacklock, out of Manuella (the dam of Memnon) by Dick Andrews, grandam, Mandane, the dam of Lottery, Brutandorf, Altisidora, &c.

Good accommodation for mares and foals.-All expenses to be paid before the mares are taken away.

At Buckenham, 6 miles from Brandon, 8 from Thetford, 9 from Swaffham, and 24 from Newmarket,

BOLIVAR, at 10gs a mare. He was got by Blacklock, his dam by Tramp, grandam by Hambletonian, out of Vesta, by Delpini, her dam, Faith, the dam of Camillus.

At Bonehill Farm, 1 mile from Tamworth and 7 from Lichfield; thorough-bred at 10gs, all others at 4gs;

CADLAND. He was bred by the Duke of Rutland, is now 7 years old, by Andrew, out of Sorcery, by Sorcerer, her dam, Cobbea, by Skyscraper-Woodpecker-Heinel, by Squirrel.

He stands near 15 hands 3 inches high, is a beautiful brown with excellent legs and feet, without a single blemish, and has no white about him, is a horse of great power, and has proved himself one of the stoutest and speediest horses in England.-At 3 years old he won and received forfeit eight times, and was never beaten. In the Newmarket Craven Meeting he received forfeit for a match of 100 sov. h. ft. In the First Spring Meeting he won a sweepstakes of 200 sov. each, h. ft. (4 subscribers), and on the following day he won the renewal of the 2000gs stakes (27 subscribers) and in the same Meeting walked over for a sweepstakes of 100 sov. each, h. ft. (9 subscribers). At Epsom he won the Derby stakes of 50 sov, each, h. ft. (89 subscribers); for this stake fifteen horses started, including Mr Petre's The Colonel,

Mr Chifney's Zinganee, and other celebrated horses. He ran a dead heat with The Colonel, and afterwards beat him. The Colonel won the Doncaster St Leger stakes the same year, and is now the property of his Majesty. In the Newmarket First October Meeting he won the Grand Duke Michael stakes of 50 sov. each (20 subscribers), and in the same Meeting, the St Leger stakes of 25 sov. each (17 subscribers). And in the Houghton Meeting he received 200 sov. from Mr Thornhill's Merchant.

In 1829, in the Newmarket First October Meeting, he won the King's plate of 100gs, and in the Second October Meeting, he won the first class of the Oatland stakes of 30 sov. each. In the Houghton Meeting he received forfeit from Col. King's Bessy Bedlam, 300, h. ft. and in the same Meeting he won the Audley End stakes of 30 sov. each, beating Zinganee, a colt by Gustavus, and Bolivar (the latter, in 1830, won the Stand cup at Liverpool).

In 1830, in the Newmarket First Spring Meeting, he walked over for a 501. pla'e, and also in the same Meeting walked over for the King's plate of 100gs. In the Newmarket Second Spring Meeting he walked over for the Jockey Club plate of 501. and in the Newmarket Second October Meeting, for the Whip, he beat his Majesty's horse Zinganee. In the Houghton Meeting, in the same year, he walked over for the third of a subscription of 25 sov. each (7 subscribers).

In 1831, in the Newmarket First Spring Meeting, he won a sweepstakes of 100 sov. each, h. ft. (3 subscribers), and on the following day, a 501. plate, beating Ld Exeter's Varna, after a dead heat; and at Burton-on-Trent, in the same year, he walked over for the Cup stakes of 10 sov. each (6 subscribers).

CAIN: full-blood mares at 10gs; half-bred at 3gs. He was got by Paulowitz, his dam by Paynator, grandam by Delpini-Young Marske-Gentle Kitty, by Silvio. He was a first-rate runner, being the winner of the great Gloucestershire stakes, and several other important races:

Paulowitz was the sire of Col. Peel's Archibald, who beat Margrave (the winner of the great Doncaster St Leger in 1832) and also of Paul Pry, Little Bo Peep, and many other excellent runners-Only six of Cain's stock have been in public, and all proved themselves winners. He is a beautiful bay, with black legs, has a fine temper and an excellent constitution.

Every accommodation with excellent paddocks; hay and grass for mares at 9s. per week; barren mares, 8s. corn, if ordered, at the market price. All expenses to be paid before any mare will be allowed to be taken away; and those coming a short distance (and not remaining with the horse) must be paid for at the time of covering.

At Smeaton Mains, near Dalkeith, at 10gs a mare, groom's fee included,

CANTEEN, by Waxy Pope, out of Castanea, by Gohanna. His stock, now 3 years old, are uncommonly powerful and racinglike, and several have already been considerable winners.

At Dickinson's Farm, Willesden, 4 miles from London; blood mares gratis, except I guinea to the groom;

COUNT PORRO, by Leopold (son of Camillus) out of Wathcote Lass. He is the sire of Miss Maria (a winner eight times) and Jemima, 3 years old (a winner twice) the only two trained got by him.

DEFENCE, at Mr Isaac Sadler's, Stockbridge, at 10gs a mare and half a guinea to the groom. He was got by Whalebone, out of Defiance, by Rubens, &c. Defence is 15 hands 3 inches high, with immense bone, fine symmetry, and strong constitution. His stock, now rising 2 years old, are remarkably fine, and will some of them appear in public this year.

Stockbridge is 8 miles from Winchester, 18 from Southampton, 15 from Salisbury, and 7 from Andover.

He is by Whalebone, out of Fair Ellen, by the Wellesley Arabian; the only one of his stock that ever started; she is the dam of Babel (winner of the Oaks) Dandizette, and Translation. Exquisite possesses great racing powers; colour, a rich beautiful grey. MAMELUKE, at 12gs, and half-a-guinea to the groom.

CAMEL (late the property of Lord Egremont) at 15gs, and half-aguinea to the groom.

LAUREL, at 10gs thorough-bred, and 5gs half-bred, and half-aguinea to the groom. He won eight gold cups, besides several other stakes; his colour is dark brown with black legs.-See Racing Calendar 1828-1829.

TARRARE (winner of the St Leger) at 10gs thorough-bred, and 5gs half-bred, and half-a-guinea to the groom.

CYDNUS, at 5gs, and half-a-guinea to the groom. Cydnus is own brother to Euphrates.

THE NORFOLK PHENOMENON, at 5 sov. and 10s. to the groom. This extraordinary trotting horse, being so universally known, requires no comment.

FLIBBERTIGIBBET, at 2gs, and 5s. to the groom, by Comus, out of Selima.

Forty boxes are fitted up for the use of mares and foals, with the run of pasture for the day. Hay and grass at 10s. 6d. per week.
