OF MR. P E EL'S ACTS, &c. &c. RELATING TO THE CONSOLIDATION OF LARCENY; AND THE NEW ACTS RELATING TO &c. With Explanatory Notes, FORMS OF INDICTMENTS, LONDON: J. & W. T. CLARKE, PORTUGAL-STREET, LINCOLN'S-INN. « PRE FACE TO THE SECOND EDITION. A Second Edition of the Alphabetical Arrangement having been deemed necessary, the Author takes this opportunity of acknowledging the very favourable reception with which the first Edition was received. Forms of Indictments, together with the Evidence required to support the various charges, are added to this impression. Some years have now elapsed since the Author proposed to the present Publishers to give short heads of evidence upon the plan now adopted ; and with respect to the indictments, it was intended to include them in the former edition, but time would not then permit. The new Criminal Statutes, viz. that for Consolidating Offences against the Person, (commonly called Lord Lansdowne’s Act,) the Act against Poaching, and an Act for admitting the Testimony of Quakers and Moravians upon Criminal Trials, and of Prosecutors in cases of Forgery, with other matters of evidence, have been added to the work. |
