I purchased this book many years ago and found it very enlighting. The shredout concept was of particular interest to me in that it provided ways to look at various living systems from micro to macro. It has a lot of detail which I never was able to get around to studying, but appears to have influenced my thinking which was later documented in a series of blogs http://www.bcswonline.com/blog/index.html
