by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly of Certain sums the Province of Lower Canada, constituted and assembled by virtue of, and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled, "An Act to repeal certain parts of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of His pences of the Majesty's Reign, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual provision for the "Government of the Province of Quebec, in North America," and to make further provision for the Government of the said Province," And it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that it shall be lawful for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor or person administering the Government of the said Province by Warrant under his hand, to take out of any unappropriated monies in the hands of the Receiver General a sum not exceeding sixty-nine pounds four shillings and two pence, sterling, to defray the excess of expense incurred for Postages for the Civil Secretary's Office during the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two. A sum not exceeding four pounds seventeen shillings and four pence sterling, to defray the excess of expence, incurred for extra writing in the Civil Secretary's Office during the same period. A sum not exceeding one hundred and seventyeight pounds eleven shillings and one penny sterling, to defray the excess of expence incurred in the Contingencies of the Sheriff of Quebec, during the same period. A sum not exceeding one hundred and twenty pounds one shilling and eleven pence sterling, to defray the excess of expence incurred in the Contingencies of the Sheriff of Three Rivers, during the same period. A sum not exceeding three pounds seven shillings and ten pence sterling, to defray the excess of expence incurred in the Contingencies of the Coroner of the District of Quebec, during the same period. A sum not exceeding nine pounds and eleven pence sterling, to defray the excess of expence in the Contingencies of the Coroner of the District of Montreal, during the same period. A sum not exceeding ten pounds and four pence sterling, to defray the excess of expence incurred in the Contingencies of the Prothonotaries of the District of Montreal, during the same period. A sum not exceeding eighty pounds seventeen shillings and two pence sterling, to defray the excess of expence incurred in the Contingencies of the Clerks of the Peace for the District of Quebec, during the same period. A sum not exceeding sixty-six pounds eighteen shillings and five pence sterling, to defray the excess of expence in the Contingencies of the Clerk of the Peace for the District of Three Rivers, during the same period. A sum not exceeding five hundred pounds eight shillings sterling, to defray the excess of expence incurred for Printing the Laws during the same period. A sum not exceeding nineteen pounds ten shillings and two pence sterling, to pay to N. H. Joslin, his taxed account of expences incurred in executing a Warrant against several persons in the District of Montreal, in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty. for the survey, Plans and Report concerning the Boundary Line, between the Crown
and the Seminary of Quebec. A sum not exceeding two hundred and fifty-one
pounds two shillings and nine pence sterling, to pay to William Smith Sewell,
Esquire, Sheriff of the District of Quebec, for expences incurred in forming
Jury Lists, under the Act of the second year of His Majesty's Reign, chapter
twenty-two. A sum not exceeding one hundred and sixty-six pounds eight shil-
lings and six pence, sterling, to pay Louis Gugy, Esquire, Sheriff of the District
of Montreal, for expences incurred in forming Jury Lists under the said Act. A

An Act to amend the Act of the ninth George the Fourth,chapter seventythree, sub-dividing the Province into Counties, by establishing new places of Election in certain Counties therein mentioned.

E it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Assembly of the Province of Lower Canada, constituted by virtue of and under the authority of an Act passed in the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled, "An Act to repeal "certain parts of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of His Majesty's Reign, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual provision for the Government of the "Province of Quebec, in North America, and to make further provision for the Act 9, Geo.government of the said Province"; And it is hereby enacted by the authority amended, and of the same, that from and after the passing of this Act, the Election of Members new places of of the Assembly, which would otherwise be held in the County of Beauharnois, at tablished in the village of Saint Clement, only shall be held at the said village of Saint Clement, and at the Village of Huntingdon, in the Township of Godmanchester, and shall commence at each of the said Villages alternately; the Act passed in the Wherefore the ninth year of George the Fourth, chapter seventy-three notwithstanding: Provided always, that at the next election for the said County of Beauharnois after the passing of this Act, the election shall commence at the said village of Saint Clement, and be removed in conformity to the provisions of the twelfth section of an Act passed in the fifth year of His late Majesty's Reign, intituled, "An Act to repeal cer "tain Acts therein mentioned, and to consolidate the Laws relating to the Election "of Members to serve in the Assembly of this Province, and to the duty of Returning Officers, and for other purposes," to the said Village of Huntingdon, if so required, in the manner and form prescribed by the said Act,

II. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that from and after the passing of this Act, the Election for the County of Gaspé shall not be held at Point Saint Peters, but shall be held at Percy, and at Saint George's Cove; and the Election for the County of Bonaventure, shall not be held at Richmond, nor at Hope, but shall be held at New Carlisle and at Carleton, to commence alternately at each of the last named places.

III. And it is further enacted by the authority aforesaid, that from and after the passing of this Act, the election for the County of Berthier, which has hereafter been held at the Village of Berthier, shall hereafter be held at the said Village of Berthier and in the Parish of Saint Paul, at the Village near the Church, and that such elections shall commence at each of the said places, alternately.
