The connected capacity of the installation is stated in kw., a standard 16 c. p. inincandescent lamp being rated at 50 watts, and a standard 500 arc lamp at 500 watts. In large installations, where the customer guarantees a minimum monthly consumption of 1,250 kw. h. for eight months of the year, the rates for average daily use are: 10c. for first two hours' average daily use, 7c. for the third and fourth hours' average daily use, and 5c. per kw. h. for the excess above four hours' average daily use. Rates for metered power service: 10c. per h. p. h., with discounts 20 per cent. to 50 per

cent.;

minimum, $3 per month. For public service, arc street lighting: number of arc lamps, enclosed, 301 c. p., 1,200; and 11, c. p., 2,000; schedule, one-half hour after sunset' to one-half hour before sunrise; 3,938 hours per year; price per lamp per annum, $107;. incandescent street lighting: number of incandescent street lamps, 526; c. p., 25; schedule, one-half hour after sunset to onehalf hour before sunrise; 3,938 hours per year; price per lamp per annum, $20.50.
