The United Gas, Electric Light and Fuel Company reduced the price of electric lighting in Sandy Hill, So. Glens Falls and Fort Edward Sept. 12, 1905, to 10 cents per kilowatt with 10 per cent. discount, for business places. The former price was 10 cents with 5 per cent. discount, and for residences, 12 cents with 5 per cent. discount. The price of street arc lighting in Sandy Hill was reduced June 6, 1905, from $80 to $50 and Sept. 5, 1905, in So. Glens Falls a like reduction was made.

Company claims death

due to natural causes.
While in a room which contained a vulcan No. 9
water heater which was lighted, in which she re-
mained about 15 minutes, it is claimed, was poi-
soned by carbon monoxide gas arising from incom-
plete combustion.

While at work in tunnel asphyxiated.

Employe of N. Y. & N. J. Telephone Co. found dead
in manhole of that company at about 4 P. M. while
performing his duties as conduit lineman.
Asphyxiated by gas in bed room. Retired to room
at hotel and found dead next morning. No evi-
dence to show whether case was accidental or sui-
cidal. Accidental death verdict of Coroner.
Overcome by gas while putting plug in gas pipe, fall-
ing from ladder, struck head on bath tub. Died
a few hours later at hospital.

Electric shock from touching wire.
Telephone lineman while stringing wires caught spur
from his climbers in insulation of high tension
wires and punctured it. Entire current passed
through his body.

While constructing iron railing, disconnected a part
and brought same in contact with ground connec-
tions on the lightning arresters, causing shock.
While painting on ladder which rested against trans-
former had a paint bucket hanging on one primary
wire; apparently steadied himself on primary wire
with his hand, and while painting with other hand
came in contact with other primary wire; in fall-
ing, struck head against ventilator.
While climbing telephone pole erected between pri-
mary lines, to prevent contact with which the
Telephone Co. had placed a bracket and glass on
telephone pole; insulation was off wire at this point
and deceased caught hold, it is supposed, of the
primary wire. The pole of Telephone Co. was
stepped to within 2 feet of ground.

Employe of telephone company assisting in placing
a guy wire for that company took hold of wire
which had become twisted about 6 feet from
ground and received fatal shock.

Deceased, an employe of W. U. Tel. Co., was en-
gaged in trimming limbs of trees; his head touched
lower power wire. After short contact he fell to
ground. Death caused by ground shock or re-
sulting fall.

While assisting lineman in employ of telephone
company, Boquet ascended a pole and caught
hold of an electric lighting wire, which was sus-
pended in the air near the telephone pole.
While joining electric power cable, forearm came in
contact with live conductor in cable, burning fore-
arm and causing fatal shock.

Received shock while trimming mast-arm lamp,
standing on wet ground. Circuit was crossed
with primary line. Supposed deceased omitted
to put on rubber gloves.

While engaged in painting building, was lowered
on a painter's sling. Stepped from sling to plat
form, on which were transformers and usual wires
attached to pole, receiving fatal shock.
Received shock while using a lamp on long cord.
Held lamp in hand and stepped on cord.
Supposed that motor on
Cause of death uncertain.
opposite side of wall from where he was working
became charged and that bolt that supported
motor also became charged, and in some way he
came in contact with it, or with an iron bar
charged from it.

Came in contact with Bell Telephone wire which
was broken and hung over A. Č. primary wire of
lighting company.

While standing on a portable platform tightening a screw in a porcelain knob insulator, accidentally the platform tipped and to save himself from falling put his hands across the 2,200 volt terminals in rear of potential transformer, causing death. While helping to connect some disconnecting switches, in some way came in contact with switch-carrying current.

Burns and injury to hand, with partial amputation.
Installation claimed to be defective.

Burned on hand and face while opening switches on
feeders without previously opening circuit-breaker
Shocked by 240-volt circuit while testing meter.

Contact with live pull-up cable when leaning against
pole.

short circuit and burning wrist.

Eyes weakened by flash from grounded cable.

ing a short circuit in main bus switch.

While entering manhole to make a splice, the ends
of live cable grounded.

Shocked by coming in contact with supposedly dead
wire near where employes of company were tak-
ing down insulated copper wire.
While working as a telephone lineman on a pole be-
longing to telephone company a cable he was con-
necting into a terminal box came in contact with
live wire, and in trying to keep from falling he
caught hold of another wire. Finger badly
burned and right shoulder dislocated.
