Evokes the Elizabethan setting and compares it with that of 1940s Britain (contemporary at the time of writing). Following a couple of introductory chapters, each chapter looks at the scenes in a particular geographical location (e.g. Kent, Windsor, Scotland, Northumberland, Shropshire, etc.). Includes some commentary on the plays. |
