buildings, and in grading or moving property incident to either of said undertakings, and to require the board of directors of the penitentiary to furnish under guard such convicts as are called for by the Capitol Building Committee.

Having been considered by the committee in session, was reported from the Committee on Asylums and Prisons.

The following House bills, having been considered by the committee in session, were reported from the Committee on Finance: No. 255, House bill to provide for a uniform system of accounts for treasurers, clerks, county and district school boards in the counties of this State, and to provide for a travelling auditor of accounts, and to fix his salary, and to provide the duties of such travelling auditor, and to provide a penalty for failure to keep the accounts is provided, with a recommendation that it do not pass.

No. 256, House bill to amend and re-enact section 46 of an act approved April 16, 1903, entitled an act to raise revenue for the support of the government and for the public free schools, and to pay the interest on the public debt, and to provide a special tax for pensions, as authorized by section 189 of the Constitution, with a recommendation that it do not pass.

No. 257, House bill to amend and re-enact sections 2 and 10, inclusive, of an act to raise revenue for the support of the government and public free schools, and to pay the interest on the public debt, and to provide a special tax for pensions, as authorized by section 189 of the Constitution, approved April 16, 1903, so as to reduce taxes on real and personal property five cents on each one hundred dollars.

No. 258, House bill to settle the boundary line between the States of Virginia and Kentucky, along the county of Buchanan, Virginia, with a recommendation that it do not pass.

No. 259, House bill to extend the time of treasurers and their deputies of the counties and cities of the Commonwealth of Virginia for the collection of taxes which said treasurers have accounted to the State and county authorities, with a recommendation that it do not pass.

No. 260, House bill to make an appropriation for the removal, transportation, storage and display of the exhibits to be made by the people of the State of Virginia at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition from said exposition to the city of Portland, Oregon, with recommendation that it do not pass.

House bill to amend and re-enact section 131 of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city of Bristol, approved March 5, 1900, and to repeal sections 132 and 133 thereof.

House bill to empower the council of the town of Berryville to submit, at a special election, to the qualified voters of said town, whether or not said town shall buy the plant and franchise of the Battletown Gas Company, and to borrow money to pay for same, or to issue bonds therefor, provided the same can be secured for $5,500.
