Mr. READ offered the following resolution: Whereas, it is generally agreed that the law governing pensions to our disabled soldiers and marines, being voluminous and liable to be misconstrued; therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates (the Senate concurring), That a joint committee, consisting of three on the part of the House and two on the part of the Senate, be, and are hereby, appointed, with power and authority to take charge of the whole subject of pensions, and if in their judgment advisable, recommend a new statute covering this whole subject.
