CHAP. 85.

AN ACT to authorise the sale of a certain gore of land in the village of Lodi, in the town of Salina.

Passed March 29, 1833.

The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

$1. It shall be the duty of the surveyor-general to cause a gore of land of about six rods in front, in the village plat of Lodi, town of Salina, and county of Onondaga, lying on the north side of the turnpike, and next west of the tract of twenty-five acres of land directed to be conveyed to the holder of the lease thereof, by an act passed March tenth, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, to be appraised; and the commissioners of the land-office shall then cause the same to be granted to Rufus Stanton, the owner of west half of blocks,number twenty-one and ten, in said village plat, who has the said gore of land in his possession, on his paying into the treasury of this state the appraised value of the said piece of land.

AN ACT to authorise Louis Paul D'Autremont to erect a dam across Genesee river, in the town of Angelica, in the county of Allegany.

Passed March 29, 1833.

The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

S 1. It shall and may be lawful for Louis Paul D'Autre- Dam. mont, his heirs or assigns, and they are hereby authorised to erect and maintain a dam, not exceeding four feet in height, across the Genesee river, at his farm, in the town of Angelica, above the transit bridge, in the county of Allegany. But the said Louis Paul D'Autremont shall erect and keep in repair an apron or lock in said dam, of such construction as to render the passage safe and easy for rafts and boats to pass down the same, and to suffer the same to pass free from toll or expense of any kind, during the continuance of said dam; and providing, further, that nothing in this act shall be so construed as to affect the rights or take away the remedies of individuals

CHAP. 83.

AN ACT to amend the act entitled "An act to amend and extend the act entitled 'An act to incorporate the firemen of the city of Albany, and for other purposes,' passed March 11th, 1833.

The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

$1. The first section of the above entitled act is hereby amended by striking out the word March in the fourth line thereof, and inserting the word April.

$2. This act shall take effect immediately after the passage thereof.

CHAP. 84.

AN ACT to amend an act entitled "An act to authorise the appointment of a measurer of stone in and for the city of Albany."

Passed March 28, 1833.

The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

S 1. It shall be the duty of the measurer of stone in and for the city of Albany, to inspect the piling as well as to measure all such stone as may be purchased or sold in said city, as shall be required to be measured, and shall certify the same. Such measurer shall receive, instead of the fees now allowed, three cents for every cubic yard, and in that proportion, to be paid in the manner specified in the act hereby amended.

$ 2. This act shall take effect from the passage thereof.

CHAP. 90.

AN ACT to extend and amend an act, entitled, "An act to incorporate the Glasco toll-bridge company, passed November 24, 1824."

Passed March 30, 1833.

The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

$1. The charter of the Glasco toll-bridge company is hereby extended until the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

$2. The officers of said company shall hereafter be vested in a board of five directors, one of whom shall be the president of said company; and a majority of the di rectors shall have power to transact business.

$ 3. This act shall take effect from and after the first day of May next.

$ 4. The legislature may at any time alter or repeal this act, and the act hereby amended.

CHAP. 91.

AN ACT to incorporate the Utica mechanics' association.

Passed March 30, 1833.

The People of the State of New-York represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

S1. There shall be established and located in the city of Utica, in the county of Oneida, an association by the name of the "Utica Mechanics' Association."

$ 2. Thomas Walker, Andrew S. Pond, John Parsons, Gardnier Tracy, Jacob D. Edwards and Zenas Wright, and such other persons as are, or may become members of said association, are hereby constituted a body corporate, by the name aforesaid.

$ 3. The objects of said association are charitable; to establish and maintain lectures, applicable to the mechanic arts; to collect and form a repository of apparatus, books, drawings, models of machinery, and generally for enlarging the knowledge and improving the condition of mechanics, artisans and manufacturers, and also for the establishment and support of an apprentices library for the use of apprentices, mechanics, artisans and manufacturerse

54. The corporation shall have power to prescribe By-laws. rules and regulations for the admission of its members, and their government, the election of its officers, and their duties, and for expelling any of its members for not observing its laws. Candidates for admission to said association shall be elected at the regular meetings of the same, by a majority of the votes of the members then present.

CHAP. 92.

AN ACT to prohibit, in the towns of Blenheim and Fulton, in the county of Schoharie, the hunting and pursuing deer with dogs.

Passed April 1, 1833.

The People of the State of New-York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

$1. No person shall at any time hunt, pursue or destroy any wild buck, doe or fawn, with any blood-hound, beagle, cur or any other kind of dog in the towns of Blenheim and Fulton, in the county of Schoharie; and whoever shall offend herein, shall forfeit twelve dollars and fifty cents for every offence, to be recovered with costs of suit before any court having cognizance of the same, by the overseers of the poor of the towns where the offence shall be committed; which forfeiture, when recovered, shall be applied to the use of the poor of such town, if the distinction between town and county poor is not abolished, and if abolished, the same shall be paid to the superintendents of the county poor-house, for the use of the poor of the said county.
