It replaces the volume published in 1949 entitled Title 43-Public Lands: Interior, and becomes an integral part of the Code of Federal Regulations. In consolidating the material con- tained in the 1949 volume with subsequent changes and additions, there have been included all rules and regulations, general and permanent in nature, duly published in the Federal Register on or before December 31, 1954, and effective as to facts arising on or after January 1, 1955. The compilation of public land orders, which appeared in the 1949 volume and subsequent pocket supplements as Appendix C to Chapter I, has been excluded.
