Goderich to Gardner: The McDonald Family and Other Cass County Pioneers

William McDonald (1805-1883), son of John McDaonld and Helen Paterson, was born in Westquarter, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He married Isabel Alton (1800-1878), daughter of John Alton and Isabel Allan, in 1826. They had five children. He died in Goderich, Ontario. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ontario and North Dakota.
