Your letter did not reach us until today, and we find that several of the drafts which you wish paid have been returned as per your instructions of October 23. We enclose a list of all drafts which have been returned. Upon comparing the list enclosed in your letter of the drafts outstanding and our record of the 1268 1269 drafts returned, we find there are two drafts which do not appear to have been presented, namely #5520 for $17.00 and #5559 for $9,109.60. 1270 We shall still continue to hold your stop payment order upon these drafts, as those which have been returned are stamped "Payment stopped." I am in receipt of your favor of the 28th instant in reference to the C. F. Pfeiffer & Sons drafts which the writer stopped payment on when in your city on the 23rd instant. Upon my return home we made an agreement with them to continue their business, also to honor such drafts as we directed. This agreement was subject to certain conditions which have not been complied with, we therefore have this day, through long distance phone, requested you to stop payment on all drafts of this firm presented at your counter, until further notice, which I have already confirmed by letter to Mr. S.
