CHAPTER 700.

AN ACT to provide for the transfer of cases from the docket of the crimi nal court of the eleventh judicial district to the docket of the circuit

court.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That after the terms of the criminal court in the counties of Franklin, Henry, Carroll, Owen, Gallatin, Boone, and Grant, in the year 1880 have been held, it shall be the duty of the circuit court clerks in said counties to transfer all cases remaining on the docket of said court to the docket of the circuit courts in their respective Counties, and the circuit courts of said counties shall, imLOC. mediately upon such transfer, resume exclusive jurisdiction of all cases so transferred.

§ 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from its passage.

AN ACT to amend an act entitled "An act for the benefit of Hardin

county."

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§1. That an act, entitled "An act for the benefit of Hardin county," approved February 9th, 1876, be so amended that the commissioners of the sinking fund of Hardin county may purchase the bonds of the county, such price as, in their judgment, they may think for the best interest of the county, and the treasurer may loan the money at a lower rate of interest than seven per

centum.

§ 2. All parts of said act inconsistent with this act are hereby repealed.

§ 3. This act shall take effect from and after its pas

sage.

CHAPTER 702.

AN ACT to amend an act authorizing the judge of the Hart county court to appoint a clerk for the Hart quarterly court, approved February 10th, 1880.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§1. That an act, entitled "An act authorizing the judge

of the Hart county court to appoint a clerk for the Hart quarterly court," approved February 10th, 1880, be, and the same is, so amended that the said appointee shall be styled the deputy clerk for the Hart quarterly court, and shall be authorized to do and perform all clerical acts relating to the business of the Hart quarterly court that deputy clerks of circuit courts may by law perform in matters relating to circuit courts.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 703.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Louisville, Cincinnati and Lexington Railway Company.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That the contract made between the Louisville, Cincinnati and Lexington Railway Company and the Shelby Railroad Company for the lease and operation of the road of the last named company, be, and the same is hereby, delared legal and valid as if the said companies had been specially authorized to make the same.

§ 2. It shall be lawful for said Louisville, Cincinnati and Lexington Railway Company to contract with the mayor and general council of the city of Louisville, in behalf of said city, for the removal of said company's track and depot on Jefferson street to along and upon the fill and depot grounds north of Main street, in said city, and near to and along the old bed of Beargrass creek as. far as Second street, in said city, on such terms as may be agreed on; and for that purpose said mayor and council may use and appropriate an amount of money not exceeding sixty thousand dollars, originally raised for the purpose of such removal; and if, after meeting the requirements of such contract, any part of said sum remains, the same shall be paid into the city treasury, to be thereafter expended in the eastern district of said city.

§3. This act takes effect from and after its passage. Approved April 1, 1880

CHAPTER 704.

AN ACT allowing Charles S. Grubbs, county judge of Legan county, to practice law in certain cases.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That Charles S. Grubbs, county judge of Logan county, be, and he is hereby, permitted to practice law in any case involving the settlement of an estate or of the account of a fiduciary, where the fiduciary has not made a partial or complete settlement of his accounts in the county court of said county.

§ 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 705.

AN ACT to incorporate the Southern Bank of Kentucky. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. That there is hereby established a bank in the city of Henderson, Kentucky, bearing the name of the Southern Bank of Kentucky, which may commence business with a capital of one hundred thousand dollars, and which may be increased, as its business may justify, to the amount of four hundred thousand dollars; which capital shall be divided into shares of one hundred dollars each, to be subscribed and paid for by individuals and corporations in the manner hereinafter prescribed; and the subscribers, shareholders, their successors and assigns, are created a body-politic and corporate, by the name and style of the Southern Bank of Kentucky, and shall continue as such until the first day of March 1910; and by that name shall be empowered to make contracts, sue and be sued, in all courts or places as natural persons, with plenary power to acquire, possess, use, sell, convey, and dispose of all such real estate, chattels, and effects as are convenient for the transaction of its business, and such as may be transferred to said bank as security for any debt on demand, or which may be purchased in satis
