Warrant of Commitment.

BERKSHIRE, to wit: Be it remembered, that on this of, in the ninth year of the reign of his present Majesty, C. D. is convicted before me, J. P., one of his Majesty's justices of the peace for the said county of Berks, for that he the said C. D., on the day of last past, at in the county aforesaid, [did wilfully obstruct and hinder A. B. in searching, by virtue of a warrant under the hand and seal of a justice of the peace in that behalf, for alum and other ingre dient, intended to be used for the purpose of adulterating flour and bread;" or, "did wilfully obstruct and hinder A. B. in seizing certain alum, which was found by the said A. B. in the shop of the said C. D., on a search there, by the said A. B., for alum and other ingredient intended to be used for the purpose of adulterating flour and bread, by virtue of a warrant under the hand and seal of a justice of the peace in that behalf, and deemed to have been lodged there, with an intent to adulterate the purity and wholesomeness of flour and bread;" or, "did wilfully oppose and resist A. B. in searching, by virtue of a warrant under the hand and seal of a justice of the peace in that behalf, for alum and other ingredient intended to be used for the purpose of adulterating flour and bread;" or, "did wilfully oppose and resist A. B. in carrying away a certain quantity of alum, which was then found by the said A. B. in the shop of the said C. D.,

on a search by the said A. B. for the same, by virtue of a warrant under the hand and seal of a justice of the peace in that behalf, and seized by him; and divers loaves of bread then and there seized by the said A. B. as being adulterated]: And I do adjudge the said C. D. to forfeit and pay for the same the sum of- -"[not more than £5, nor less than 50s.]. 8. Baking on Sunday.

BERKSHIRE, to wit: Be it remembered, that on this

D., being a person exercising the trade and calling of a baker, out of the city of London and the liberties thereof, and beyond the weekly bills of mortality, and more than ten miles from the Royal Exchange, to wit, at aforesaid, in the county aforesaid, did on the Lord's day, commonly called Sunday, and within two days before the date of this conviction, to wit, on the instant, [at aforesaid, in the county aforesaid, bake seventy loaves of bread;" or, 'after half past one of the clock in the afternoon of the same day, at aforesaid, in the county aforesaid, did bake" (or "deliver) and caused to be baked," (or "delivered) two dishes of meat, two puddings, and two pies, for persons unknown]: And I do adjudge the said C. BRICKS AND TILES.

Not making Bricks or Pan-tiles of sufficient size.

Information.

Same as the form, ante, p. 95, to the words] informeth me, that A. B., late of the parish of in the county aforesaid, brickmaker, on the day of , in the year aforesaid, at the parish of, in the county aforesaid, did make and cause to be made for sale, a large quantity, to wit, ten thousand [bricks, which, when burnt, were less than eight inches and a half long, to wit, only eight inches long, and less than two inches and a half thick, to wit, two inches thick, and less than four inches wide, to wit, only three inches and a half wide:" or "pantiles, which were less than thirteen and a half inches long, to wit, only thirteen inches long, and less than nine inches and a half wide, to wit, only nine inches wide, and less than half an inch thick, to wit, only three-eighths of an inch thick]; contrary to the form of the statute in such case made and provided: Whereby" &c. as ante, p. 95, to the end.

Penalty, bricks, 20s. per thousand; pantiles, 10s. per thousand; and so proportionably for a greater or less number: 17 Geo. 3, c. 42, s. 1, 2: half to the informer, and half to the poor of the parish. 1. Cornfactors, &c. in London, not making Declaration,

Information.

CITY OF LONDON, to wit: Be it remembered, that on the day of, in the year of our Lord, A. B. gives us, J. P. and L. M., Aldermen of the said city, and two of his Majesty's justices of the peace for the said city, to understand and be informed [that C. D., being a cornfactor, and carrying on trade and business in the said city of London as a cornfactor, did, after the second day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, to wit, on the day of in the year first aforesaid, and continually from thence for the space of one calendar month, at London aforesaid, carry on the said trade and business; and that the said C. D. hath not made and delivered to the Lord Mayor, or to any one of the Aldermen of the said city of London, the declaration required by the statute in that behalf made and provided]; contrary to the form of the statute in that case made and provided: Whereby he hath forfeited the sum of fifty pounds.
