CONCURRENT RESOLUTION.

Whereas, Lieutenant Jacques de Lafitte, U. S. Army, a native of Louisiana, and for the past two years the able instructor of the State National Guard, has applied to the President of the United States for authority to raise a regiment of immunes as provided for by recent Act of Congress:

Dear Sir-During the war in 1862 at Baton Rouge, La., one of my men brought me this bit of stone. The State House had been, unfortunately burned. This stone is a specimen of the great block furnished the Washington monument by the State of Louisiana; and it gives me infinite pleasure to restore
