Mr. BRENNAN. No, sir, the price is exactly the same.

Mr. EAMES. I made the point this morning that there is a very wide Evergence between 350 and 400 dollars. A lot of people will go

Senator MAGNUSON. If you could fly at the same rates, would some of you fly!

Mr. EAMES. We talked about that, too. We certainly will fly if we have to. A lot of people, mothers and fathers, do not want to send er children by air, and the unscheduled air lines, in our opinion, ay not satisfactory.

The CHAIRMAN. Mr. Haynes pointed out a very important point, he de a very important point there: He said the air service requires a pover and a trip back.

Mr. EAMES. Filled both ways.

The CHAIRMAN. Right at the same time.

Senator MAGNUSON. Yes; it requires that, but they do that now. The CHAIRMAN. They will not let you make a trip in June over and ame back in September.

Senator MAGNUSON. If they could work out something in freight 20, coming back, something like that, air freight or air express; just a thought. With me it is transportation; it is transportawhether it is water, land, or air, if it can be handled that way. The CHAIRMAN. Thank you again, Mr. Brennan.

Mr. EAMES. We will tell our people that we hope that something happen in a few weeks so that we can get our people on a ship. The CHAIRMAN. If you get any further information as you go along this point, I hope that you will get in touch with us so that we can

to get some action.

Mr. EAMES. We certainly hope

Naator MAGNUSON. I hope you do not have the impression that obligatory on the United States Government to furnish space some or to see that they get space.

Mr. EAMES. No; we wanted to point out that there was this demand. Senator MAGNUSON. The demand, and we will do everything we can have that space, but it is not obligatory to say that space is to be a for students any more than-they do not even have some space Some traveling members up here who want to travel for education. Mr. HAYNES. Sir, on the obligation to the Senate, it is not the feelthere at all. The feeling that we had is when the United States es said that they feel that there is sufficient space at the present 7 for all students, we are caught in the middle here and we do not e the space.

P

Mr. EAMES. That is the only thing.

Mr. HAYNES. That is what we are interested in.

Senator MAGNUSON. I am sure that the lines want to furnish all

space that they can possibly furnish. That is what they are in siness for, and if they cannot furnish the space it is because of this sual condition of the sailing of a very seasonal, highly concentrated *onal sailing.

Mr. CHAIRMAN. Does anyone else wish to testify? If not, the heargs are closed.

Whereupon, at 3: 10 p. m., the committee adjourned.)
