AN ACT Making an appropriation to the State Live Stock Sanitary Board, for the purchase of a suitable site, for the erection of buildings thereon, and for equipment, for conducting research work with relation to the diseases of animals. Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That twenty thou sand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby specifically appropriated to the State Live Stock Sanitary Board, for the purchase of a suitable site for conducting research work with Site and building relation to the diseases of animals, for the erection of buildings thereon, and for the provision of special equipment for the care of animals required in connec tion with the scientific study of their diseases. The said site shall be selected by the State Live Stock Sanitary Board, with reference to its adaptability to the purposes herein specified, and the equipment of the site shall be as deemed necessary by the said Board. Approval of plans, etc. Section 2. Before any expense shall be incurred for the purchase of land or for the erection and equipment of buildings, under the provisions of this act, the selec tion, plans and specifications shall be submitted in writing to the Governor, for his approval, and shall be approved by him before such land is purchased or such building or equipment shall be begun. The amount herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer, as the same may be needed, upon warrants of the Auditor General, after the submission of itemized signed vouchers approved by the Secretary of Agriculture. Be it enacted, &c., That the sum of thirty Appropriation. thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby specifically appropriated out of any money in the Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of conducting investigations concerning the causes, nature, treatment and prevention of the diseases of the domestic animals, of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and especially for the investigation of tuberculosis of cattle and of improved measures planned to check or repress this disease, with the object of discovering new facts, which may be applied advantageously and profitably by the owners of live stock and those engaged in the care and rearing of animals. Section 2.
