STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION.

St. Paul, Jan. 21, 1861. To the Honorable the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the State
of Minnesota :
SIR: In response to a Resolution of th 3 House, "requesting the State Board of Equalization to report to the House the Statistics and other data in its possession, upon which the Equalization was sought to be effected,” I have the honor of submitting the following copy of the proceedings of the State Board of Equalization, as appears by the records in this office.
St. Paul, Monday, November, 5th, 1860. In pursuance of the thirty-ninth Section of An Act to provide for the Assessment and Taxation of all property in this State and for levying taxes thereon according to its true value in money, approved March 9th, 1860, the State Board of Equalization met this day at the office of the Auditor of State, the following persons being present :
Alexander Ramsey, Governor.
On motion D. N. Gates and J. A. Wheelock were appointed Secretaries of the Board.
Mr. Dunbar stated that the returns of the valuation of the Real Prop erty of the several counties were not complete, and moved that the Board adjourn to meet on Wednesday, at 10 o'clock, A. u., which was agreed to, and the Board adjourned.
WEDNESDAY, November 7th, 1860. The Board met pursuant to adjournment. Present, Messrs. Ramsey and Baker. On motion of Mr. Baker it was
Resolved, That the Auditor of State, or his deputy, be, and is hereby requested to furnish the Board with the abstracts of the valuation of Real Property, as returned to his office by the Auditors of the different courtiog.
On motion the Board adjourned until to-morrow morning at 10 o'clock.
