Provided, That before any part of this appropriation Proviso. shall be paid, the trustees of the State College shall file with the Auditor General plans and specifications and estimates, satisfactory to him, showing that the entire cost of erecting, completing, furnishing and equipping any building or buildings, upon which any part of this appropriation is to be expended, will not

exceed the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Making an appropriation to the North Pennsylvania General
Hospital and Sanitarium, of Austin.

Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the sum of eight thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby specifically appropriated to the North Pennsylvania General Hospital and Sanitarium, of Austin, for the two fiscal years beginning June first, one thousand nine hundred and three, for the purpose of maintenance.

Approved-The 15th day of May, Anno Domini, one thousand nine hundred and three, in the sum of $4,000. I withhold my approval from the remainder of said appropriation, for the reason that the condition of the State revenue does not justify a larger expenditure at this time.

AN ACT

Making an appropriation to the Beaver Valley General Hospital of Beaver county.

Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the sum of twen ty-two thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby specifically appropriated to the Beaver Valley General Hospital, of Beaver county, situate at New Brighton, for the following purposes, namely:

For the purpose of assisting in the erection of the new building, the sum of ten thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary: Provided, The trustees of the hospital raise an equal amount, and the same be certified to the Auditor General, under oath by the secretary of the board of trustees of said hospital, before any of this amount shall be available.

For the purpose of maintenance, for the two fiscal years beginning June first, one thousand nine hundred and three, twelve thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary.

Approved-The fifteenth day of May, Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and three, except as to the item appropriating $10,000 for the purpose of assisting in the erection of the new building. This item is approved in the sum of $8,000. I withhold my approval from the remainder of said item, for the reason that the condition of the State revenue does not justify a larger appropriation at this time.

Making an appropriation to Saint Timothy's Hospital and
House of Mercy, of Roxborough,

Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the following Appropriation. sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated to Saint Timothy's Hospital and House of Mercy, of Roxborough, Philadelphia, for the two fiscal years beginning June first, one thousand nine hundred and three (1903), for the following purposes:

For maintenance, the sum of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000).

For the purpose of erecting on the ground owned by the hospital such buildings as may be necessary, the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000).

And for the purpose of equipping the laundry with Equipments. modern appliances, and the furnishing the kitchen with a range and needed improvements and utensils,

the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000).

Said appropriation to be paid in accordance with. the provisions of an act of Assembly approved March fifteen, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine.

Approved-The fifteenth day of May, Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and three, except as to the item appropriating $5,000 for the purpose of equipping the laundry with modern appliances, and the furnishing the kitchen with a range and needed improvements and utensils. I withhold my approval from this item, for the reason that the condition of the State revenue does not justify a larger appropriation at this time.

Be it enacted, &c., That the sum of five thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces sary, be and the same is hereby, specifically appropriated to the Curtis Home for Destitute Women and Girls, of the city of Pittsburg, State of Pennsylvania, for the two fiscal years beginning June first, one thousand nine hundred and three, for the purpose of maintenance.

Making an appropriation to the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic Home, Department of Pennsylvania, at Hawkins Station, Allegheny county, Pennsylvania.

Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the sum of fifteen thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces sary, be and the same is hereby specifically appropriated to the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic Home, Department of Pennsylvania, at Hawkins Station, Allegheny county, Pennsylvania, for the two fiscal years beginning June first, one thousand nine hundred and one, for the following purposes, namely:

For maintenance, five thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary.

For the purpose of assisting in replacing buildings destroyed by fire, in the sum of ten thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary.

Approved-The fifteenth day of May, Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and three, except as to the item appropriating $10,000 for the purpose of assist

AN ACT

Making an appropriation to the Home of Industry for Discharged Prisoners, in the city and county of Philadelphia. Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That the sum of fourteen thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby specifically appropriated to the Home of Industry for Discharged Appropriation, Prisoners, in the city and county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, for the following purposes, for the two fiscal years beginning June first, one thousand nine hundred and three, namely:

For the purpose of maintenance, five thousand dol- $5,000 for mainlars, or so much thereof as may be necessary.

$9,000 for work

For the erection of additional workshops, and increasing the facilities, nine thousand dollars, or so shops, etc. much thereof as may be necessary.

Provided, That the sums hereby appropriated shall not be paid if, at any time during the said two years, satisfactory evidence shall be produced to the Auditor General that articles manufactured in the said institution are being sold at less than the open market price.

Approved-The fifteenth day of May, Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and three, except as to the item appropriating $9,000 for the erection of additional workshops and increasing the facilities. This item is approved in the sum of $5,000. I withhold my approval from the remainder of said item, for the reason that the condition of the State revenue does not justify a larger appropriation at this time.
