ACT NO. 90, OF LAWS OF 1900,

Authorizes the Establishment of a School of Instruction for Health Officers of the State.

In accordance with the provision of this law the Eighth Annual School for the Health Officers of the State will be held in Armory Hall, Burlington, opening Monday evening, July 9, at 8 o'clock. All health officers of the state are hereby notified and called to be present on that date to attend the sessions of said School. Only in case of his sickness will any health officer be excused for non-attendance; such excuse must be filed with the secretary.

Arrangements will be made with the railroads of the state to give convention rates to all those attending the School.

A register of the School will be open at the Armory, where hand baggage and overcoats may be checked at any time. Those who wish board in private families wi!! find there a list of boarding houses.

Every member of a local health board should register immediately on arrival.

The Laboratory of Hygiene, 196 Main Street, will, as usual, be open at all times to visiting health officials, and all are expected to make free use of the Laboratory rooms.

The School sessions are open to the people of Vermont, and all are invited to participate in the discussions as far as the time will permit. Health officers are expected to utilize the opportunity to get information on any points of practical importance in their work, and all will study brevity in their remarks and questions.

The Meetings of the Board

Meeting held in RUTLAND, February 15, 1906.

Present, Drs. Caverly, Stiles and Holton.

The subject of Brattleboro water supply was considered. After discussion the preparing a report on same was committed to Dr. Caverly.

An application from citizens of Enosburg was presented by the Secretary, asking for an examination of their school house. March 2 was fixed as the date for such examination. Adjourned.

Meeting held in BURLINGTON, April 26, 1906.

Present, Drs. Stiles and Holton.

Laboratory inspected. Bills approved.

Voted to work with the Council on Pharmacy and Chemistry of the American Medical Association, on the lines they are pursuing.

Voted to send exhibit of diagrams, circulars and samples of outfits of Laboratory and such as illustrate the work of the Board.

Voted that Dr. Holton attend the meeting of the State and Provincial Boards of Health, also the meeting with the Public Health and Marine Hospital Service to be held in May next.

A request for an examination of a school house in Jericho having been received, Dr. Stiles was delegated to visit the school house and report.

Having received only a partial report of watershed in Brattleboro and a diagram of Haliday brook, it was decided to postpone the consideration of the matter, until full plans and diagrams were furnished as requested by authority given the Board in Act No. 115, 1902.

The Secretary was instructed to enter into correspondence with reference to the operation of the Jewell Filter.
