The accompanying table shows the result of last year's work of the Supreme Court of the United States, so far as the number of cases can show it. There was an increase of 31 in the number of cases docketed on the appellate docket, and a decrease of 3 in the number disposed of, the number remaining having been increased thereby from 303 to 336. At the close of the October term, 1899, there remained undisposed of on the appellate docket 303 cases, and upon the original docket 14 cases, making a total of 317. The number of cases docketed at the October term, 1900, was 406, 401 of which were on the appellate docket and 5 on the original docket, which, with the 14 cases pending on the original 3 |
