be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask for more.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of

man.

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ᎩᎾ may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke xxi. 34-36.

1 Cor. i. 7, 8.

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the 1 Thess. v. 2. Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that 1 Thess. v. 4. day should overtake you as a thief.

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let 1 Thess. v. 6. us watch and be sober.

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting 1 Thess. v. 8. on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet the hope of salvation.

That thou keep this commandment without spot, 1 Tim. vi. unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus 14, 15. Christ:

Which in his times he shall shew who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

2 Pet. iii. 10-14.

And let us consider one another, to provoke unto love and to good works:

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition, but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat; the earth also, and the works that are therein, shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness;

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens, being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which Rev. iii. 2. remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found

thy works perfect before God.

Remember therefore how thou hast received and Rev. iii. 3. heard; and hold fast and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou Rev. iii. 11. hast, that no man take thy crown.

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that Rev. xvi. watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk 15. naked, and they see his shame.

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Blessed is that servant whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing.

Verily I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

Col. iii. 4.

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

And before him shall be gathered all nations; and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus 19. Christ at his coming?

1 Thess. ii.

13-18.

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, 1 Thess. iv. concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive, and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord 2 Tim. iv. 1. Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead

at his appearing and his kingdom.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of 2 Tim. iv. 8. righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge,

shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also which love his appearing.

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious_Titus ii. 13 appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us
