But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And knew not, until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing.

Verily I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming;

And shall begin to smite his fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, Matt. xxv. 6 the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage and the door was shut.

Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in 2 Pet. iii. 10. the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away

with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat; the earth also, and the works that are therein, shall be burned up.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen; Rev. ii. 5. and repent, and do the first works; or else I will

come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

(3) In power and great glory.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father, with his angels, and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

Whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds, with great power and glory.

THE EXPECTED CONDITION OF

THE WORLD DURING THE MILLENNIUM.

XI.

Satan to be bound.

2, 3.

AND I saw an angel come down from heaven, having Rev. xx. 1, the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled and after that he must be loosed a little season.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Isaiah xxiv. LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

And they shall be gathered together as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

XII.

Those who are IN THE MORTAL CONDITION (i.e., those converted AFTER our Lord's descent in glory to the earth, as in Zech. xiv. 5, etc.) to enjoy great spiritual happiness and temporal prosperity.

AND in that day seven women shall take hold of one Isaiah iv. man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear

our own apparel; only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem.

When the LORD shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning.

And the LORD will create upon every dwelling of Mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

The earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.

He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
