And informed,

That the House of Representatives have passed said bills with amendments, in which the concurrence of Senate is requested. He further informed,

That the House of Representatives have concurred in the amendments by Senate, to the bills, entitled as follow, viz.

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act vesting in the corporation of the city of Philadelphia for the use of the city, a certain lot of ground therein described.'

A supplement to the act, entitled, an act for the appointment and regulation of constables in the township of the Northern Liberties, in the county of Philadelphia.'

A supplement to the act, entitled, an act to incorporate the city of Philadelphia, passed the 11th day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.'

The bills presented for concurrence were read the first time. The amendments by the House of Representatives, to the bill from Senate, entitled

• An act to enable John S. Roulet, executor of the last will and testament of Victor Moreau, deceased, to sell and convey certain real estate therein mentioned,' were read as follow, viz.

Section 1. line 7, between the words the Bucks' insert' newspapers published in.' Same line, strike out the word Correspondent.'

On motion,

Said amendments were again read, considered and concurred in. The amendments by the House of Representatives, to the bill from Senate, entitled

An act for the relief of James Moore of Beaver county,' were read as follow, viz.

Section 1. line 3, strike out the words the said.' Line 4, after 'Moore' insert of Beaver county.' Line 5, strike out the word 'office.' Same line, strike out the words said land' and insert in lieu thereof the following a certain fractional part of the reserved tract at the mouth of Big Beaver creek in Beaver county, granted to him by an act passed 22d January 1803.'

Preamble, line 7, strike out the word 'land' and insert after 'officers' the words of the land office.' Lines 8 and 9, strike out the words it becomes necessary for the legislature to grant relief."

On motion,

Said amendments were again read, considered and concurred in. Ordered, That the clerk inform the House of Representatives accordingly.

An act authorizing a review of a road laid out from West Chester to McCall's ferry bridge, and for other purposes,' was

read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole yesterday, considered by section and agreed to.

Ordered, That said bill be transcribed for a third reading.

On motion,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the amendment by Senate, non-concurred in by the House of Representatives, to the bill, entitled

• An act making an appropriation for the erection of piers in the river Delaware, at the borough of Chester, in Delaware county.?

Whereupon,

A motion was made by Mr. Lowrie and Mr. Jarrett,

To postpone the further consideration of said amendment, to gether with the bill generally, which was not agreed to. A motion was then made by Mr. Baily and Mr. Ewing, That Senate recede from said amendment, and

Mr. Baily read a bill in his place, and on leave given, presented the same to the chair, entitled

An act to compel the payment of the proportion due to the commonwealth, of the dividends made by incorporated companies,' which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. I. Weaver and Mr. Jarrett,

Ordered, That 9 o'clock be the hour of meeting in the morning of each day, until otherwise directed.

On motion of Mr. Lowrie and Mr. Ewing,

The Senate adjourned until 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Agreeably to order,

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Beale in the chair, on the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act to authorize George Eisenhuth, George Orwig, John Orwig and Jacob Orwig, to dig, establish and support a mill race on the north side of Penn's creek hear the town of New Berlin, in the county of Union.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill with one amend

ment.

Agreeably to order,

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Biddle in the chair, on the bill, entitled

An act to erect the town of Indiana in the county of Indiana, into a borough.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill with amendments. Agreeably to order,

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Forster in the chair, on the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

A supplement to the act, entitled, an act to enable the Gov-. ernor to incorporate a company to make an artificial road by the best and nearest route from the west end of the borough of York, to the borough of Gettysburg in the county of Adams.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill with amendments. Adjourned until 9 o'clock to-morrow morning.

THURSDAY, February 29, 1816,

Mr. Frailey presented a petition from Philip Seitel, praying that the seat of justice of Columbia county may be removed from Danville, to the premises now occupied by the said Seitel in Bloom township, where he offers to erect at his own expence the necessary public buildings; and

Said petition was read and laid on the table.

Mr. Rogers presented a petition from col. Jacob Shaffer and others, stating that in pursuance of orders from his excellency the Governor, they were constituted a general court martial for the trial of delinquents and deserters ordered into service by general orders predicated on a requisition by the president of the United States, that they accordingly set thirty-one days, for which they have as yet received no pay, and praying that the legislature will grant them relief; and

Said petition was read and referred to Mr. Rogers, Mr. Ross, Mr. Ewing, Mr. Lowrie and Mr. I. Weaver.

Mr. Murray presented a document relating to the annexation of a part of Chillesquaque township to the connty of Northumberland.

Which was read and laid on the table.

Mr. Morgan presented a remonstrance from the chamber of commerce of the city of Philadelphia, remonstrating against the appropriation of a certain sum of money now in the treasury, arising from a duty of four cents per ton on ships and vessels departing from the port of Philadelphia, for the purpose of erecting piers in the river Delaware at Chester; and

Said remonstrance was read and laid on the table.

Mr. Ewing presented a petition from the members of a troop of volunteer cavalry in the county of Delaware, praying certain alterations and amendments in the existing militia law; and

The same was read and referred to the committee on the militia system.

Mr. Smith from the committee appointed for the purpose yesterday, reported a bill, entitled

An act to erect the town of Bedford in the county of Bedford, into a borough,' which was read the first time..

The bill, entitled

An act directing the formation of a map of Pennsylvania,' was read the third time, and

On the question,

Resolved, That the Secretary of the Commonwealth be requested to inform Senate, whether Jacob Schnee, elected printer of the German journal of Senate in December last, has entered into security according to law, for the faithful discharge of his duties as printer to Senate.
