The bill, entitled

An act for the relief of certain widows and children of those who died in the service of this state during the late war with Great Britain,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole on Saturday last, considered by section and agreed to, and

Ordered, That it be transcribed for a third reading.

The bill, entitled

An act to provide for the better preservation and increase of the library of this commonwealth,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole on Saturday last, considered by section and agreed to.

Ordered, That it be transcribed for a third reading.

The bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act to enable the Governor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from Henry Hews in the county of Lycoming, by the best and nearest route to Aaron Bloss' in the county of Tioga,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole on Saturday last.

The several sections were considered and agreed to.

The title being amended by striking therefrom the words by the best and nearest route,' was agreed to.

Ordered, That said bill be prepared for a third reading.

The clerk of the House of Representatives being introduced, returned the bill, entitled

An act authorizing the administrators of Israel Bringhurst to convey a certain tract of land.'

And informed,

That the House of Representatives have passed said bill with amendments, in which the concurrence of Senate is requested. The amendments by the House of Representatives, to the said bill, were read as follow, viz.

Section 1. line 3, strike out all that follows the word that' to the word 'unto' in line 6, and insert in lieu thereof as follows:

• It shall be lawful for Mary Bringhurst and Moses Hobson, administrators of the estate of Israel Bringhurst, late of Montgomery county, deceased, or the survivor of them, on the receipt of the monies yet due under an article of agreement made between the said Israel Bringhust and a certain Cornelius Tyson in their lifetimes, to execute a deed for a tract or parcel of land containing thirteen acres, be the same more or less, situate in Upper Providence township in said county, on the road leading from the Trap to. Wismer's ford.'

Mr. Graham read a bill in his place, and on leave given, presented the same to the chair, entitled

An act in aid of certain volunteers and militia of this state,' which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Welles and Mr. Ross,

The amendment by Senate non-concurred in by the House of Representatives, to the bill from the House of Representatives,

entitled

An act to enable the Governor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from Jersey Shore in the county of Lycoming, by the best and nearest route to Coudersport in the county of Potter,' read on Satuлday last, was again read.

Whereupon,

A motion was made by Mr. Frailey and Mr. Reed,

That Senate insist upon their said amendment, which was agreed to.

Ordered, That the clerk inform the House of Representatives accordingly.

On motion of Mr. Reed and Mr. Frailey,

The resolution relative to the final adjournment of the legislature, read on the 18th December, was read the second time, and The same being under consideration,

A motion was made by Mr. Reed and Mr. Frailey,

To amend the same by striking out Friday the first' and inserting Monday the eleventh.'

A motion was made by Mr. Lowrie and Mr. Graham,

To postpone the further consideration of said question, together with the resolution for the present, and

• An act to enable the executors of Walter Clark to convey a certain tract of land,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole on the 20th January, considered by section and agreed to.

An act to authorize the Governor to incorporate a company for erecting a permanent bridge over the river Susquehanna, at or near Clark's ferry in the county of Cumberland.'

An act for the better securing the free navigation of the river Delaware.'

An act directing certain payments to be made to the first troop of city cavalry.

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Ross in the chair, on the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act for the erection of a poor house, for the better relief and employment of the poor in the townships of Oxford and Lower Dublin in the county of Philadelphia.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill as committed.
On motion,

Said bill was read the second time, considered by section and agreed to, and

Ordered, That it be prepared for a third reading.

TUESDAY, February 13, 1816.

Mr. Lowrie presented two petitions of similar tenor from sundry inhabitants of the counties of Allegheny, Indiana and Armstrong, remonstrating against a review of the road from Indiana to Pittsburg; and

Said petitions were read and laid on the table.

Mr. Biddle presented a petition from John Mellish, praying that he may be employed to make a correct map of the state under the sanction of the legislature; and

Said petition was read and referred to Mr. I. Weaver, Mr. Biddle, Mr. Lane, Mr. Ross and Mr. Lowrie.

Mr. Biddle also presented from John Mellish a map of the state of Ohio, for the use of the table of Senate.

Mr. Shearer presented an abstract of the accounts of the Chesnut Hill and Spring House turnpike road company, transmitted by the president and managers of said company, agreeably to law.

Mr. Jarrett from the committee to whom was re-committed on the 9th inst. the bill, entitled

An act to enable the executors of Valentine Kloess to sell certain real estate,' reported said bill with amendments, and the same was read the first time.

The bill, entitled

Ordered, That the clerk return said bills to the House of Representatives, with information that Senate have passed the same, the former without, and the latter with amendments, in which the concurrence of that house is requested.

The clerk of the House of Representatives being introduced, informed that the House of Representatives have concurred in the amendments by Senate, to the bills, entitled as follow, viz.

An act authorizing James Wilson of York county, to convey the right to a tract of land of Mary Wilson, a lunatic, and for other purposes.'

An act to revive and extend certain acts therein mentioned, relative to the building of bridges over the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers opposite Pittsburg, and to authorize the Governor to subscribe for a certain number of shares to the stock of the same.'

He further informed,

That the House of Representatives have concurred in all the amendments by Senate, to the bill, entitled
