On motion of Mr. Rogers and Mr. Lowrie, The report of the committee relative to the sale of wheat, rye and Indian corn in the port of Philadelphia, read on the 30th January, was again read, and the resolution thereto attached, considered and agreed to. On motion of Mr. Graham and Mr. Beale, The Senate proceeded to the second reading and consideration of the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled 'An act granting a sum of money to aid in removing obstructions out of Sheerman's creek.' The bill, entitled An act authorizing Joseph Budd and Joshua Budd to build a toll bridge across the Youghiogeny river in Westmoreland county,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole yesterday, considered by section and agreed to. An act to enable the Governor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from Jersey Shore in the county of Lycoming by the best and nearest route to Coudersport in the county of Potter,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole yesterday. The several sections were considered and agreed to. The title being under consideration, A motion was made by Mr. Welles and Mr. Ross, To postpone the further consideration thereof, for the purpose of introducing a new section to be called section 4. in the words following, to wit. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the Governor be, and he is hereby authorized and required to subscribe on behalf of this commonwealth for two hundred shares of stock in said company, and as soon as any ten miles of said road is completed, the Governor is further authorized and required to draw his warrant on the state treasurer in favor of said company for the one sixth part of the above subscription, which is hereby authorized to be subscribed, and the like sum for every other ten miles until the whole road is completed.' An act to enable the Governor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from Henry Hews', in the county of Lycoming, by the best and nearest route to Aaron Bloss' in the county of Tioga.' A further supplement to an act, entitled, an act to incorpor ate a company for making an artificial road from Harrisburg through Lewistown and Huntingdon to Pittsburg.' An act directing certain payments to be made to the first troop of city cavalry. An act to provide for the continuance of courts of quarter sessions.' He returned the bill, entitled An act for the relief of John Thompson.' And informed, That the House of Representatives have passed said bill without amendment.
