An act authorizing the election of a constable in the borough of Greensburg.'

An act for the relief of Michael Wheeland, an old soldier.' The bills presented for concurrence were read the first time. The amendments by the House of Representatives, to the bill from Senate, entitled

'An act concerning the sale of a tract of land of which John Burnside died possessed,' were read as follow, to wit.

Sect. 1. line 5, strike out the words the said.' Strike out the preamble.

On motion,

Said amendments were again read, considered and concurred in. Ordered, That the clerk inform the House of Representatives accordingly.

On motion of Mr. I. Weaver and Mr. Beale,

The Senate adjourned until 3 o'clock this afternoon.

SAME DAY-IN THE Afternoon.

The amendments by the House of Representatives, to the bill from Senate, entitled

'An additional supplement to an act, entitled, an act directing the mode of selecting and returning jurors,' were read as follow, to wit.

Sect. 1. line 21, between the words had by' insert so far as relates to the drawing of the said juries.'

Sect. 2. line 4, strike out the words under the direction of the court."

On motion,

Said amendments were again read, and the same being under consideration,

A motion was made by Mr. Baily and Mr. Erwin,

To postpone the further consideration of said amendments, together with the bill generally, and

On the question,

Will Senate agree so to postpone ?

The yeas and nays were required by Mr. Smith and Mr. McFarland, and are as follow, to wit.

So it was determined in the negative.

Whereupon,

The first amendment was considered and concurred in.

The second amendment, to wit.

Sect. 4. line 4, strike out the words under the direction of the court,' was considered and non-concurred in.

The bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act authorizing the Governor to incorporate the Northampton Water Company,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole yesterday, considered by section and agreed to.

Ordered, That said bill be prepared for a third reading.

Agreeably to order,

The rule for going into committee of the whole being in this case dispensed with, the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act to vest in Isabella M'Intyre the right of this commonwealth to the estate of her husband Thomas M'Intyre, formerly of the city of Philadelphia, deceased,' was read the second time, considered by section and agreed to.

Ordered, That said bill be prepared for a third reading.
Agreeably to order,

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Shearer in the chair, on the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act releasing the right of this commonwealth in certain escheated estate, late the property of Dennis Dunn, deceased, to Joseph A. Wigmore, Francis Wigmore and Ann Wigmore.'

And after some time,

The committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again; leave was granted, and

Ordered, That the committee of the whole sit again to-morrow.
Agreeably to order,

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. G. Weaver in the chair, on the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act repealing the act to encourage the raising of swine, so far as the same respects the borough of Mercer.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill as committed.
Agreeably to order,

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. I. Weaver in the chair, on the bill from the House of Representatives,entitled

An act granting a sum of money to aid in removing obstructions out of Sheerman's creek.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported the first section of the bill negatived.

On motion,

The further consideration of said report was postponed for the present.

Agreeably to order,

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Welles in the chair, on the bill, entitled

An act for the relief of George Snell.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill as committed.
Adjourned until 10 o'clock to-morrow morning.

WEDNESDAY, February 7, 1816.

Mr. Baily presented a petition from sundry inhabitants of Lancaster, Chester and York counties, praying that commissioners may be appointed to review a road from West Chester to M'Call's ferry; and

Said petition was read and referred to the committee to whom were referred on the 5th January two similar petitions.

Mr. Lowrie presented two petitions from sundry inhabitants of the borough of Pittsburg and its vicinity, praying that in case a law is passed to authorize the erection of a bridge over the Monongahela river at Pittsburg, the choice of the scite may be left to the stockholders or the commissioners appointed for the purpose; and

Said petitions were read and laid on the table.

Mr. Baily presented a petition from sundry inhabitants of Lancaster county, praying for a revisior of the law for the suppression of vice and immorality, so far as relates to the breach of the Lords day;

Which was read and laid on the table.

Mr. M.Sherry from the committee appointed for the purpose, made further report in part, which was read as follows, to wit. That in conjunction with a similar committee of the House of Representatives, they have compared and this day presented to the Governor for his approbation, the bills, entitled as follow, viz. for the relief of Michael Wheeland, an old soldier."

A supplement to the act authorizing Andrew Bozorth and Doctor Phineas Jenks, executors of the last will and testament of Hannah Dyer, deceased, to sell and convey a certain tract of land therein mentioned.'

An act establishing an academy in the borough of Lebanon in the county of Lebanon.'

The bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act to vest in Isabella McIntyre the right of this commonwealth to the estate of her husband Thomas M'Intyre, formerly of the city of Philadelphia, deceased,' was read the third time, and

Resolved, That this bill pass.

The bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act authorizing the Governor to incorporate the Northampton Water Company,' was read the third time, and

Resolved, That this bill pass.

Ordered, That the clerk return said bills to the House of Representatives, with information that Senate have passed the same, the former without, and the latter with amendments, in which the concurrence of that house is requested.

On motion of Mr. I. Weaver and Mr. Frailey,

The Senate resumed the second reading and consideration of the bill, entitled

An act providing for the sale of the State House and the ground attached thereto, in Philadelphia,' postponed for the present yesterday.

Section 7. and the amendment thereto proposed, recurring,
On the question,

Will Senate agree so to amend?

It was determined in the affirmative, and the section as amended agreed to.

The remaining sections were severally considered and agreed to. The title being amended by striking therefrom the words the ground attached thereto' and inserting in lieu thereof the words State House square,' and also by inserting before • Philadelphia' the words the city of,' was agreed to.

Ordered, That said bill be transcribed for a third reading.
The bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act authorizing Joseph Budd and Joshua Budd to build toll bridge across the Youghiogeny river in Westmoreland county.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill with amendments, The clerk of the House of Representatives being introduced, returned the bill, entitled

An act enabling the Governor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from the state line near the town of Emmetsburg in the state of Maryland, to intersect the Chambersburg and Bedford turnpike road at or near Loudontown in Franklin county.'

And informed,

That the House of Representatives have passed said bill with amendments, in which the concurrence of Senate is requested. He further informed,

That the House of Representatives have concurred in the amendments by Senate, to the bills, entitled as follow, viz.

An act to enable the representatives of Thomas Allibone, late of the city of Philadelphia, deceased, who are of full age, and the guardian of those who are minors, to convey and assure a lot of ground in the Northern Liberties of the city of Philadelphia.' An act authorizing the Governor to incorporate the Northampton Water Company.'

He further informed,

That the House of Representatives have receded from their amendment non-concurred in by Senate, to the bill, entitled

An additional supplement to an act, entitled, an act directing the mode of selecting and returning jurors.'

The amendments by the House of Representatives, to the bill, entitled

An act enabling the Governor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from the state line near the town of Emmetsburg in the state of Maryland, to intersect the Chambersburg and Bedford turnpike road, at or near Loudontown in Franklin county,' were read as follow, viz.

Sect. 1. line 23, strike out the words and suffer.'

Sect. 11. line 3, after the word 'majority' insert of them.' On motion,

Said amendments were again read, considered and concurred in. Ordered, That the clerk inform the House of Representatives accordingly.
