A Leafe of Lands from a Tenant for Life under a

Marriage Settlement.

HIS INDENTURE, made, &c. Between Martha Meux of, &c. widow of John Meux, late of the fame place, efquire, deceased, of the one part; and Christopher Crow of, &c. of the other part; WITNESSETH that the faid Martha Meux by virtue of a power to her given, and reserved, in and by the fettlement made on her marriage with the faid John Meux, bearing date the 25th day of May 17-, and of all and every other power and powers enabling her thereunto, and for and in confideration of the rents and covenants hereinafter referved and contained, by and on the part and behalf of the faid Christopher Crow, his executors, adminiftrators, and affigns, to be paid, done, and performed, hath leafed, fet, and to farm let, and by these presents doth leafe, fet, and to farm let, unto the faid Christopher Crow, his executors, adminiftrators, and affigns; ALL that meffuage or tenement, and dairy called with the barns, ftables, buildings, and appurtenances thereunto belonging; and alfo all thofe feveral clofes, inclofures, and parcels of ground thereunto alfo belonging, and hereinafter particularly mentioned (that is to fay) all thofe clofes and parcels of meadow and pasture ground called the Hill Clofe, containing by eftimation nine acres or thereabouts, the Fat

ting Clofe, containing by eftimation feven acres or thereabouts, the Mileto Clofe, containing by estimation seven acres or thereabouts, the Home Clofe, containing by estimation 7 acres or thereabouts, the half part of the Seven Acres Close that lies towards the North (the other half of the faid clofe which lies towards the South, and adjoins to a close called the Twenty Aires Clofe, being the land of the duke of Bedford) and the Eight Acres Clafe, containing by eftimation eight acres or thereabouts, (except and always referved out of the faid Eight Acres Clofe, unto the minifter of the parish of or other perfon intitled thereto, a cut of grafs of three acres and an half, more or lefs, as the fame is staked out as a modus or in lieu of tithes or otherwife;) AND alfo all thofe clofes and parcels of arable land called the Two Arbour Clofes, containing by eftimation fourteen acres or thereabouts, The Rye Hill Clofe containing by estimation ten acres or thereabouts, and the Charles Clofe, containing by estimation twelve acres or thereabouts; and alfo all that piece or parcel of ground called The Warren, containing by estimation fortyfour acres or thereabouts; and alfo all thofe two closes or parcels of meadow adjoining to the said warren called Lammas Mead, containing by estimation nine acres or thereabouts, which faid warren, and the Lammas Meads are Lammas Grounds, and the parishioners of have a right to turn in their cattle and 302 have

have common therein, all which faid premiffes are fituate and being in the parish of aforefaid, and are now in the occupation of the faid Chriftopher Crow, or his affigns; and also all that meffuage or tenement called Place, with the barns, ftables, buildings, yards, gardens, orchards, and appurtenances thereunto belonging; and all those several closes, inclosures, and parcels of ground thereunto belonging, and hereinafter particularly mentioned (that is to fay) the Home Clofe, the Rye Hill, the Long Clofe, Stepingly Pightle, and three acres or thereabouts in a certain meadow called Millmead, with the after-grafs of all the faid meadow, containing together by eftimation thirty-two acres or thereabouts, be the fame more or lefs, which faid meffuage or tenements and premiffes laft mentioned, are fituate, lying, and being in the aforefaid parish of aforefaid, and were late in the occupation of David Doe, but now of the faid Christopher Crow, or his affigns; and also all that clofe or parcel of ground called the Corn Clofe, containing by eftimation seven acres or thereabouts, fituate in the faid parish of

and lying along the brook, and adjoining to the road and warren, now alfo in the occupation of the faid Chriftopher Crow, or his affigns, which faid clofe called Corn Clofe is Lammas Ground, and the parishioners of have

a right to turn in their cattle and have common therein; and alfo all thofe four clofes or

faid clofes is fubject to the payment of two
bushels of malt yearly, to the faid parishion-

Meux, and her affigns during fuch part of the term hereby granted as the fhall happen to live, and from and after her deceafe unto fuch perfon or perfons as fhall from thenceforth during the then remainder of the said term, be intitled to the freehold and inheritance of the faid premiffes, all timber trees and other trees now ftanding, growing, or being, or which fhall at any time during the continuance of this demife, ftand, grow, or be upon the faid demifed premiffes, or any part thereof, (other than such as are hereinafter agreed to be allowed the faid Chriftopher Crow, his executors, ad303 miniftrators,

ministrators, and affigns) with free liberty of ingrefs, egrefs, and regrefs, to and for the faid Martha Meux and her affigns, during fuch

part of the term hereby demifed as she shall happen to live, and from and after her decease, to and for fuch perfon or perfons as fhall from thenceforth during the then remainder of the faid term, be intitled to the freehold and inheritance of the faid premiffes, her or their agents, fervants, workmen, and others, with horses, carts, and carriages, or otherwife, into, out of, from, and upon the faid demifed premiffes or any part thereof, to fell, cut down, take, and carry away the faid trees, making fatisfaction for any damage that he the faid Christopher Crow, his executors, adminiftrators, or affigns, may fuftain thereby, and also except free liberty to enter into and upon the fame premisses, at seasonable times, in the day-time, to view the condition thereof; To have and to hold the faid premiffes (except before excepted) unto the faid Chriftopher Crow, his executors, adminiftrators, and affigns, from the 5th day of April last past, before the date hereof, for and during, and unto the full end and term of twentyone years, from thence next enfuing, and fully to be compleat and ended; Yielding and paying therefore yearly and every year, unto the faid Martha Meux and her affigns, at her house in Tottenham aforefaid, during fuch part of the faid term hereby demifed, as fhe shall happen
