Dr.ing. Călin Mihăileanu (1923-2006), personalitate marcantă a energeticii din România. Absolvent al Facultății de Electromecanică a Politehnicii din București, a avut o bogată activitate inginerească și funcții de conducere la IRE București, Ministerul Energiei Electrice și IRME. În anul 1967 înființează Institutul de Cercetări Energetice și pentru Termoficare (ICENERG) al cărui director este până în anul 1974 când realizează fuziunea cu IRME și crearea ICEMENERG. A fost director general al ICEMENERG și ICCE până în anul 1984. Autor a numeroase cărți și a peste 200 de articole științifice, a fost redactor șef al revistei Energetica, Președinte al CNR-CIGRE (1991-2000), secretar general si Vicepreședinte al CNR-CME.

A personality in the field of Energy Engineering in Romania and in Europe. A talented and prolific engineer and researcher, leader and mentor, a man of culture, he was loved and respected by all those who knew him.
His prestigious professional career span over six decades. He established and led for almost 20 years the first national research institute for the electric energy industry in Romania – ICENERG, later ICEMENERG.
ICENERG/ICEMENERG was the only research institute in Romania that covered the entire spectrum of the energy field, from the production of electricity and heat in conventional power plants, the transmission and distribution of electricity but also the use of new energy sources for the electricity generation.
He groomed many generations of researchers, many of whom then became themselves personalities in the field. He was very active in international professional associations, such as the World Energy Council (WEC) and the International Council for Large Electrical System (CIGRE) . For 30 years, Călin Mihăileanu was part of the editorial council of the Romanian energy field professional magazine “Energetica”, where he contributed to the publication’s high professional standards.
Călin Mihăileanu has published over 200 articles in Romanian and in international publications, has authored numerous presentations at national and international professional congresses and conferences, and has been the author or co-author of numerous books.

Andrei Călin Mihăileanu a été une personnalité de premier rang dans le secteur énergétique européen, un ingénieur et homme de culture de grande envergure, aimé et respecté par tous ceux avec qui il a travaillé. Sa prestigieuse carrière professionnelle s’étend sur plus de six décennies. Il a créé et dirigé pendant près de 20 ans le premier institut national de recherche pour l’industrie de l’énergie électrique en Roumanie – ICENERG, plus tard ICEMENERG. Il a fait grandir de nombreuses générations de chercheurs, dont beaucoup sont ensuite devenus eux-mêmes des personnalités dans le domaine.
ICENERG/ICEMENERG a été le seul institut de recherche en Roumanie qui couvrait l’ensemble du spectre du secteur énergétique, de la production d’électricité et de chaleur dans les centrales électriques conventionnelles, du transport et de la distribution d’électricité, mais aussi de l’utilisation de nouvelles sources d’énergie pour la production d’électricité
Il a été très actif au sein d’associations professionnelles internationales, telles que le Conseil Mondial de l’ Énergie (CME) et le Conseil International des Grands Systèmes Électriques (CIGRE). Pendant 30 ans, Călin Mihăileanu a fait partie du comité de rédaction du magazine professionnel roumain “Energetica“, où il a contribué aux normes professionnelles élevées de la publication. Il a publié plus de 200 articles en Roumanie et dans des publications internationales, a écrit de nombreuses présentations lors de congrès professionnels nationaux et internationaux et a été l’auteur ou le co-auteur de nombreux livres.
