The Review of the Roots of Youth Violence, Volume 5In June 2007 Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty appointed Roy McMurtry and Alvin Curling to conduct a review of the roots of youth violence. Volume 5 contains literature reviews. These reviews are divided into two sections: a review of major theoretical perspectives; and preventing youth crime and violence. The first section includes literature on: biosocial theory; psychological theories; social disorganization theory; economic deprivation; social learning theories; perceptions of injustice; crime and violence; social control and self-control theories; and critical perspectives on violence.
