Rao Y. Surampalli, Ph.D., PE, BCEE, Dist. M. ASCE, is President and CEO of the Global Institute for Energy, Environment, and Sustainability. He has contributed to over 600 publications, is Editor of ASCE’s Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste and past Vice-Chair of the Editorial Board of WEF’s Water Environment Research Journal, and serves on numerous industry committees and boards.

Tian C. Zhang, Ph.D., PE, BCEE, F.ASCE, is Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Professor Zhang has published more than 120 peer-reviewed journal papers, 72 book chapters, and 14 books since 1994. Professor Zhang is Associate Editor of the Journal of Environmental Engineering (since 2007), the Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (since 2006), and the managing editor of Water Environment Research (since 2008).

Satinder K. Brar, Ph.D., is Professor at Institut national de la recherché scientifique (Eau, Terre at Environment, INRS-ETE). She is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Nanotechnology for Environmental Engineering and Associate Editor of two international repute journals. She has more than 350 research publications which include five books, 40 book chapters, and 190 original research papers.

Krishnamoorthy Hegde, Ph.D., is a researcher at Institut national de la recherché scientifique (Centre Eau Terre Environment). His research interest lies in the development of advanced biosensors for environmental applications, treatment of emerging contaminants in wastewater and drinking water, microbial/biocatalytic degradation of petroleum crude wastes (bioremediation), green synthesis of functionalized polymers, conversion of biomass waste and industrial waste into biofuels and other value-added products.

Rama Pulicharla, Ph.D., is a researcher at Institut national de la recherché scientifique (Centre Eau Terre Environment). Her research interest includes development and application of hybrid advanced bio/chemical oxidation treatments for degradation of emerging contaminants in wastewater and wastewater sludge.

Mausam Verma, Ph.D., is working as a Scientist-Engineer at CO2 Solutions, Inc., Quebec, Canada. He was involved in developing economical processes for the production of biofuels, fermentation, and high value biomolecules from various biomass feedstocks, treatment of textile wastewater, and application of phytoremediation and bioremediation techniques for cleaning of contaminated sites. He has more than 150 research publications which include three books, 30 book chapters, and 120 original research journal papers.
