Clover's Secret

This colorfully illustrated fantasy story helps children deal with domestic violence and low self-esteem. In the imaginary village of Woobie, everyone learns how to fly. Out of all the 9-year-olds in the flying class, shy Clover and outgoing Micky seem like opposites, but they become good friends and flying buddies. Together they play flying pond-tag and learn lessons about taking off, turning, and flying best when you feel good about yourself. But Clover doesn't fly well, and Micky worries about her, especially as the village flying celebration approaches. In a dramatic discovery the day of the celebration, Micky learns that Clover's home is troubled by violence. Convinced by her friend to seek help, Clover must share her secret to start feeling hope for the future.
