If there were any one book I would want to recommend on the nature of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, this would be the book. Hurtado's scholarship is unsurpassed, even while writing in a clear and straightforward manner. Those who are stuggling with attacks against Jesus as God, whether from other religions or from secular (or religious) scholars need to read this book thoroughly.
Please be sure to read the chapters about the Gospel of Thomas and other later books. His discussions will set these works in their proper place and give clarity to the questions about the reliability of what the New Testament teaches about Jesus Christ.

Nicely written and clearly argued. The main idea is that Jesus was worship as the divine Son of God almost immediately after his crucifixion. This is apparent because it's repeated about 100 times.
