A native of the mountains of Burgundy, Henri Vincenot (d. 1985) is the author of numerous works of history and fiction, for which he won the Bourse Goncourt, the Prix Lamartine, the Prix Chatrain, the Prix Olivier de Serres, and other literary awards.
