The Nutritional Status of Children in Nigeria--Anambra State Experience: An Assessment of Existing Nutritional Practices, Anthropometry, Food Intakes and Suggested ImprovementsAbstract: This assessment of the nutritional status of children in Anambra state, Nigeria, is based on anthropometry and food intake studies made on 1,400 preschool children (0-5 years) and 2,006 school children (6-17 years) from September, 1976, to June 1980. The study provides health workers with specific information which reveals areas of concern regarding the nutritional status of primary and pre-school children and indicates areas of priority for planning and evaluation of health, educational and agricultural services. |
