About the author (1966)

Helen Creighton (1899 1989) was one of Canada s most respected and renowned folklorists. A true pioneer, she collected folk tales for over fifty years, helping to preserve the cultural identity of the Maritimes. Appointed a member of the Order of Canada, Dr. Creighton was the author of numerous books, including Bluenose Magic and A Life in Folklore.
