About the author (2006)

Constance Brissenden is a Canadian travel and history writer. She has directed plays by partner Larry Loyie and is co-founder of Living Traditions Writers Group. She and Loyie were co-recipients of the Norma Fleck Award for Canadian Children's Nonfiction in 2003 for "As Long as the Rivers Flow: A Last Summer before Residential School", a book about Loyie's experiences growing up as a Cree in northwestern Alberta.

Penn is an award-winning publisher and photographer with special interest in books that depict the cultural and natural heritage of people from different parts of the world.
