I read this book a couple of years ago. I personally LOVED this book, but I'll try to give it to you straight. This book is the first book to other series, it's more for someone who likes animals and how they live in the wild. It has mystery, life lessons, wars, battles, romance and a fictional religion (based on the facts that ancestors protect them, god is not involved) Cats seem to have there own society and ruling so if you enter this book you will be able to see it's similarities to real life situations. You should know though that these books have become a fandom among young children so if you read it you might become apart of it depending on whether you liked it or not. So uhh good luck!

About the author (2006)

Erin Hunter is actually three people! She is experienced children's book writers Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry and Victoria Holmes who all live in the UK. Vicky comes up with the story ideas and makes sure the books stay consistent and Kate and Cherith take it in turns to write the books. They came up with the single name, Erin Hunter, to avoid confusing their readers by having books from the same series in different places on the bookshelf.
