Rock Obituaries - Knocking On Heaven's Door
The fascination with tragedy and the subsequent theatre of voyeurism are part of human nature, especially when it involves our icons, celebrities and musicians. Knocking On Heaven's Door is the definitive book of rock 'n' roll, pop, R&B and blues deaths. Often, only the biggest selling artists are written about and sometimes it is the death of a personality that cements their iconic status. Alex MacNichol's (Green on Red) death is one of the many tragedies of my lifetime. He was a warm and friendly person and talented musician. His friends loved him dearly and he never had a bad word to say about anyone.
The book has an error, Alex was born in 1958, not 1960.
May Alex "Big Dog" rest in peace, I hope he is jammin' in heaven, playin' drums and smiling down on us.
