Women and Mass Communications in the 1990's: An International, Annotated Bibliography

Front Cover
Bloomsbury Academic, Jul 30, 1999 - Business & Economics - 510 pages

This international survey of literature on women and mass communications focuses on the 1990's and continues where the first volume, Women and Mass Communications: An International Annotated Bibliography (Greenwood, 1991), left off. Some pre-1990 works that were omitted in the first volume are included here as well. The work is organized by continents and regions and includes the Middle East; Asia, Australia and Oceania; Europe; Latin America and the Caribbean; and North America. The first chapter provides a global perspective, and the following chapters are divided topically. All genres of publications, such as books, periodicals, dissertations, and conference papers, are examined.

This reference will appeal to both women's studies and communications scholars and especially to those with an interest in international studies. As a useful guide to further research, the annotated citations are alphabetically arranged by author or article title and are numbered consecutively. This volume provides a comprehensive overview of the significant literature in the study of women and mass communications.
