The authors have concentrated on preparing a readable book that presents basic concepts and practical material. Many additions and changes have made this the most up-to-date book available in surveying. Each of the fundamental areas of modern surveying (geomatics) are discussed. Although the book is elementary, its depth and breadth make it suitable for self study reference at many levels. Includes the newest developments in both field and office procedures in surveying. Emphasizes the presence of errors in surveying, and practical suggestions resulting form the authors' many years of experience are interjected throughout the book. Modernized discussions and graphics describe the new instruments currently being used in industry. Wolf Pack CD -- contains three separate computer programs: Statistics, Matrix, and Wolf Pack, and sample data files. These all provide users with programs for traverse computations for polygon, link, and radial traverses; area calculations; astronomical azimuth reduction; two-dimensional coordinate transformations; horizontal and vertical curve computations; lease squares adjustments; and trial versions of field to finish software.
